I wasn’t sure where to post this but I felt like this thread was most relevant.

So I’m not trying to call out Craig because I have no doubt he supports Bella in any way based on how he talks about them. But it’s just interesting how Storm easily and nonchalantly refers to Bella as they and Craig still uses her all of the time even after Bella came out as nonbinary. It just kind of shows how there is still such a disconnect between generations of our society accepting nonbinary and trans people and the use of their preferred pronouns. As far as I know Bella is still ok with she/her but I think it’s pretty telling when a peer of their age uses they/them instead.

there have been several interviews with Bella where they state no preference to pronouns, like this from a GQ UK interview, referencing their NYT interview, too.

You seemingly missed the point I was trying to make. I clearly said I know Bella is ok with she or they.

I always default to they for people like Bella or Demi or Halsey or Janelle but that's more me being better safe than sorry

This quote from Bella’s interview with W Magazine has always stood out to me and is part of the reason I made the post, the video of Storm Reid talking about Bella reminded me of. There is just a stark difference on how much easier it is for younger generations of people to use they rather than just defaulting to she/her or he/him when the person is fine with either.

Finished the game a couple days ago, two episodes into the show. I don't always like what it changes but I do always like what it adds with flashbacks and whatnot. Really liking Bella Ramsey as Ellie so far, but not entirely convinced Pedro Pascal gives off Joel's hardened and jaded vibes. Cool that Merle Dandridge reprised her role as Marlene. No one told me Anna Torv was gonna be Tess, nothing prepared me for that. And then Nick Offerman as Bill in an episode that apparently made people cry? I'm not ready for this shit.

i don't disagree but it isn't her fault, the only sloppily written character in the series and buried in an episode with one of the best guest performances

Who? The actor who played Henry? Yeah, wasn't looking forward to the ending of that episode. Damn.

  16. The areas in episode 6 had some of the coolest shootouts in the game. And they took them out. I mean, I get it, it's a show, whereas in the game you have to have stuff to do as you're playing. I really do like that we got to see so much more of Tommy's settlement rather than just defending the dam.

Oh, this next episode's the DLC, I should probably play it first...?

  17. Okay, so, I played the DLC, then I watched the episode. I've been a fan of Storm Reid since A Wrinkle in Time. I knew she was playing Riley. I knew how it ends for that character. I was not looking forward to this shit. The ending made me cry. Fuck.

  18. The guy who plays David is sufficiently creepy and gross. Bella Ramsey has obviously been great so far, but their performance this episode nearly broke me, especially towards the end.

    One more to go.

The finale was a perfect adaptation of the game. The opening sequence was also harrowing. The final fight scene wasn't accompanied by epic heroic music, but a much more somber tone to really highlight how morally grey Joel's actions are. I said earlier I didn't buy Pedro as this grizzled, jaded Joel, but he really grew into the character the more he warmed up to Ellie. Merle as Marlene is obviously perfect in the game and in the show. And in the final shot, I think you can really tell from Bella's expression that Ellie knows Joel is lying.

So sounds like no earlier than 2025 for season 2 even if the WGA strike ends anytime soon. Also sounds like they have not yet decided if it will be more than two seasons or not.
