I wanna guess without looking that Tu’a had a much higher average air-yards per attempt than Purdy did and that’s the difference -

Tua’s openings are more over the intermediate & deep middle than most teams, like posts, 12-15 yard comebacks, deep ins and digs etc. because Hill and Waddle are given a lot of cushion to work across the field and very little press coverage throws off their timing, because teams are afraid of their ability to win over the top.

Purdy’s openings are more underneath the coverage, because Kyle Shanahan would throw the ball to 7 different runningbacks and use 9-10 guys as blockers every play if he could.
