As someone who watched both develop, I must say United's treble feels like it means more. City won't give a shit but, purely from a neutral perspective, it does.

Of course. A British club winning the treble I meant

I’m obviously a massive critic of City as a club, but as a team, they thoroughly deserve it. They’re the best in the world, easily.

Now if Pep would like to go on another year-long break to NYC, that would be great.

I’m going to sound like a massive hater obviously but I would also add that this City team is boring as all hell to watch, I would rather watch Klopp’s peak Liverpool team or even this year’s Arsenal team when it comes to recent challengers.

Not that I like to be lumped in with the British clubs thing... or you need Jock Stein and a team born really close to your ground haha

It was crazy being in the room with him as he got to see his favorite club win their last title. We then screamed “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Wonderwall” at him. So much better than any concert I’ve been to

He kinda sang it. He was smiling and took a bunch of videos of everyone looking at him singing the songs.

I think one of the reasons that United's treble win felt bigger and better was the amount of I guess "magical" moments that led to them doing it - Giggs' goal in the FA cup semis after that Schmeichel penalty save, turning it around against Juventus in the CL semis, Beckham's redemption after the WC sending off, and the CL final ending was just ridiculous.

This season for City has felt like a procession with everything (including Arsenal predictably and depressingly collapsing in the league) feeling like a formality. The biggest shock was probably Southampton beating them in the league Cup - Forza Nathan Jones!

I do think there has been some amazing moments - Pep turning John Stones into a world class midfielder has been insane, Haaland has been absolutely phenomenal, and the way they're able to build momentum towards the end of the season is unmatched.

I just don't think the drama is on the same par as the United win to be as enjoyable for a neutral (or a grumpy rival supporter like myself), and the unresolved 115 charges is definitely tainting it and the PL need to sort this ASAP.

Bring on 23/24 - I am gutted there is no international tournament in the meantime.

    Agreed 100%x

But we do have the women’s WC! And (I think) the U21’s and the Nations League finals.

  18. Also saw reports yesterday claiming Tottenham are preparing a bid for Sancho. I don't believe that. And I don't think United would sell to us anyways. But I'm a little surprised to see Sky now reporting that he could be sold.

Tbf that's not Sky directly reporting he could be sold - that's Sky quoting the Sunday Express report saying he could be sold.

However, United do have a bit of a Sancho problem at the minute. In that he is close to our highest earner and has never shown anything other than glimpses of form. Sure Ten Hag could turn him round after preseason, but I could see a world where they sell for £40-50m, even if it is to Spurs. Put that money towards a GK and promote Pellistri, Amad, Garnacho and you'd probably be looking at a net positive.

This probably goes without saying but this would be a key signing for Spurs.

  23. For sure. Lloris really fell off a cliff. Improving GK and CB alone makes us a much better team. Still a ways to go with the overall rebuild. But upgrades in those two spots will make for the biggest improvement.
