Sure & Certain maybe deserves a place but it's still in its honeymoon period so wasn't sure I should put it on there.

 

well polaris is a definite futures highlight so im excited! and yeah i dont take toooo much stock in what people say about records before i can hear it for myself but i know theres been some buzz around that track so im curious

 

yeah i just noticed that lol.

let it be said that this has grown to be my 3rd favorite JEW album and I love all the songs

 

on that note, am i crazy for thinking you with me sounds a bit like chase this light stuff? is this record in any way like chase this light overall? you with me and sure & certain kind of have that pop sheen CTL had that damage was missing (not in a bad way)

 

i also thought you with me sounded like a CTL song in some respects, very much in the chorus. dont think sure and certain does though... that more has the 90s pop rock vibe like lucky denver mint for me.

 

Well yeah fair enough haha. I don't wanna sound like I'm shitting on the song cause I love it but I don't think it feels quite as conclusive as their other closers. There are a couple reasons why but I think some people in here would rather go in totally unsure. I think you'll love it, but with that said, it feels opposite of CTL in that it's musically dark but probably the most outwardly optimistic song they've ever written

 

You're the only person who seems to agree with me haha. I think there are hints of CTL all over this thing

 

cliffhanger endings can work pretty well sometimes too so that's not a problem in and of itself for me. gonna need to hear the context

i mostly hear it in the production but definitely some of the songwriting of you with me as well. so if its all over the record i think im gonna love this because ive listened to you with me over 20 times

 

I think and hope you will! This is really feeling like THE Jimmy album to me lately

Oh...uh...

 

I'd say my favorite JEW records at this point are Futures and CTL, so if this album is somehow a blend of those two I will be one happy camper
