Great episode. I've fully come around to the time jump. Gene getting all excited about Mark Walberg playing Barry was the kicker for me. The Fast & Furious debate was hilarious. I am bummed there is only 30 minute of this left.

 

Fuuuck I might not be able to watch the finale until Monday

Yeah I didn’t like the last 5 minutes with the movie about Barry. But other than that, good ending. RIP hank

 

last 5 minutes were dumb. otherwise fantastic.

 

Conceptually I don't mind what they did with the ending but I think it could've been executed better

I think the ending makes sense with the overall themes of the show , Bill is obviously not a fan of Hollywood haha

 

Agreed. Pretty much a masterpiece until the movie, which is a clever idea but being intentionally bad just meant we watched something bad.

I really wish the final season was longer. Kind of felt like we were just blowing through things especially in the final 4. Even a 10 episode season would’ve benefitted a lot.

overall still one of the greatest shows ever. The shit it accomplished in both comedy and drama within a half hour every week is pretty spectacular.

(Edit) the more I think about it, I like the end movie.

 

He also always wanted his kid to see him as a hero so there’s closure there

Loved it. Obviously it ended on a super cynical note, but I thought it was fitting, considering how the show views showbiz. It was one final touch of absurdity that had me cracking up.

I'm surprised at how much I liked how Fuches' story ended, and the Hanks/Fuches confession-off was the highlight of the episode for me.

 

Love how they were building to a marvelesque ending with the big showdown being the climax and then just pulled the rug out from under it

The movie ending was fine, if not a little slow, but it’s really there to build up to the shot of John looking at his dad’s commemoration with reverence which is just a perfect way to end it

 

Loved the finale. The cheesy movie that got the story completely wrong worked for me.
