I never wanted a yard, but marital compromises are a hell of a thing.

We've got to worry about copperheads and rattlers in our yard again...love it.

Our dog was freaking out near the back corner of the fence last night. Thought he saw a snake, but when I got over there, I found 4 dead bunnies. There's a gigantic hawk/animorph sitting in one of the trees now.

 

What do you do in the event of finding copperheads and rattlers? I’m equal parts fascinated by and terrified of snakes

I killed a small rattler last year with a shovel. Just chopped it up into snake sushi.

For copperheads, I go get my Vietnam vet neighbor. He pours gasoline down into their nest and waits for them to come out. I saw him do the gas trick and thought he was going to light a match. Apparently the fumes just fuck them up.

 

Word! That’s totally fair.

For future reference DC is very doable on one of your weekend visits, I was at 3 different concerts there this past week; only takes about an hour for me to drive there and park cause I’m a pro
