If I’m Portland I’m keeping the 3-pick and trading Dame. Dame will be 33-years-old in two months and the Blazers are behind a plethora of teams in the West even if they get him some help. They have been stuck in mediocrity for a while.

They’d probably get a minimum of 3 first founders, draft swaps and a nice young player or two.

No brainer, tbh.

 

If I’m Portland I’m 100% okay with hanging on to dame too long. Too long may have already arrived, but that’s okay too. Though I think it’s a mistake to keep trying to hang on to the future and take half steps into competing. sharpe is really interesting player, but you’re doing a disservice to your present and future by trying to do both

 

it’s only a no brainer if you’re fine with punting on winning for a decade and burning any interest the fanbase has in your team but go off

 

The Blazers are going absolutely no where in the West with Dame. It’s similar to the Melo situation in Denver (expect Dame actually wants to be in Portland.) At a certain point, it’s not going to happen with your star, and it’s time to cut bait and move on

 

Everyone stop trying to take away the literal only good sports thing this state has.

 

I really don’t think it would take them long to get back to their recent level of competitiveness after a dame trade and likely exceed it shortly after, they’d have such a good foundation after this draft
