Dayseeker Band

These guys deserve their own thread. New album “Dark Sun” out in November. Their new single “Without Me” is probably their catchiest song ever, and their musical progression has been awesome to witness.

 

Thanks to whoever mentioned this band to me today, really digging my first listen of this.

 

Yeah these guys definitely deserve more love. This album is great.

 

Sleeptalk is also great, but I love that they went all in on the synthwave sadcore vibes on this new one. When that guitar solo hits in Crying while you're dancing - oh my

 

I loved all of the singles, but I’m finding the rest of the record to be less than stellar.. borderline cringe, even.

 

yeah i found that the first half is pretty undeniably fantastic and then the rest falls off quickly.

 

Not a bad song on here in my opinion, but I guess some of the slower songs bleed a little together and takes a few spins to stand out. The overall mood and flow of this record is so cool though. Perfect for November.

 

Rory and Mike's synthwave side project Hurtwave was one of my top albums from last year.

 

Yeah, Hurtwave is very underrated!

Only discovered these guys recently, not digging their earlier stuff but I like the last 2 records. Homesick is my favourite song off Dark Sun.

Just heard Homesick yesterday - great track and yet feels like these dudes are a couple years late on the vibe they’re trying to hit, vocalist is obviously nuts but everyone is these days. Why don’t these sorts of bands just form as true pop acts if they’re going to lean this hard into it?

 

sleep talk was the album that brought em out of the underground scene.

Distorted Sound scored the album 8 out of 10 and said: "Whether or not Dayseeker will quite reinvent the genre remains to be seen, but they have certainly reinvented themselves. Sleeptalk is the album that will drive their career forwards, and sees them step out of a pigeon hole and into the light."

I saw these guys the other day, really good live. Rory's voice really is something else.

'Without Me' is probably my favourite track on the new album.

 

Still my favorite and most listened to album from the past year. Picking up the vinyl today actually.

I came across this album recently when searching for metalcore bands that have turned pop - I'm very glad to have discovered them. Interesting the first two songs on the album contain breakdowns and harsh vocals, and suddenly both are dropped for the remaining 9 songs but love it nonetheless.

Working my way backwards now through their discog, Sleeptalk is fantastic and the song 'Drunk' might be one of my favourite album openers
