I disagree completely. Max according to my quick google search has 96 million subscribers. If they stream for free on Max, that is that many people who might see it’s live on the service they already paid for, might tune in just to see what it’s about, and the potentially get invested enough to tune in Wednesday and Friday and Saturday etc. The opportunity to increase eyes on the product is worth more than what they are getting from ppv buys imo.

 

i think most of this is nonsense in reality but good in theory. the reality is tnt is in way more homes than max if someone hasnt watched that in 5 years they arent all of a sudden going to check out ppvs just bc they are max. it all depends how much warner is giving them just for ppvs but if that deal ever changes its hard to go back to charging money for them. it also doesnt give them incentive to make them as great as they need to to get people to buy ppvs and my biggest fear is they just get paid too much to turn down and now do 10-12 ppvs instead of the current model which would suck big time

I doubt we'll ever see an AEW Dynamite from there just because the cost is absurd...the rebroadcast is always a losing proposition with the union fees...even WWE only runs house shows there (its why they do the Barclays Center for PPVs, etc)

Even if its just the weekly TV, AEW is one of the few things keeping me having a cable subscription...if I could dump that and just pay for MAX, even paying for the PPVs, I'd come out hundreds ahead each year.

But having it all rolled into one like Peacock would be even better.

 

I can see them doing BOTB as quarterly mini-PPVs like we all imagined they might be...especially with the new Saturday show seemingly cancelling them out from a time slot perspective.

Like, throw FTR v Gunns on the show tonight and you'd basically have the perfect 2.5hr PPV special for in-between the main PPVs. And it'd let them blow off stuff like the never-ending JAS feuds, or hell, even run the 4 Pillars match at the mini-PPV and run Darby vs MJF as the follow up at DoN.

Do you have a big empty section there behind the camera? My show a few weeks back did but I think that's just because Florida sucks lol

 

Looks like @Joe4th is one section over from the hard cam, so not really. They always block off several rows behind hard cam, but its only in the low attendance shows where AEW/WWE has most of that side blocked off
