AI generated music videos, and album 'art' (ABR is a recent one for example) are lazy and usually look like shit. I think the obsession with AI in general is annoying and terrible for artists across the board whether it be visual, music, or whatever other medium. I've been seeing it everywhere lately and it bugs me pretty much any time I see it.

 

People that complain about the “older generation saying the younger gen workers are lazy”, haven’t worked with the lazy group younger gen and make excuses for them. Now, not everyone is lazy and you have lazy older people too, but I work with someone who is lazy and doesn’t listen. Also same person lacks common sense. I’ve known people in management who’ve experienced the same thing. It’s worse with the younger gen. Now back to the lazy girl. I’ve complained about her before. At first I thought she was cool, then wasn’t, then cool again, and now not cool. I’m the lead at my work, in which I was never officially told I was bc I’m pretty sure it was to avoid paying me extra, bc I’d ask for more pay and tried to before it was “official”- so I don’t put in a lot of effort. Anyway, this girl doesn’t listen to instruction. I’d say “hey please remember to this”, she says ok but there’s never any change. She also doesn’t pull her weight on helping with stuff that’s an everybody duty. Manager is aware but nothing happens. As always nothing happens. The other day she was doing something incorrectly, so I said oh that’s not for task1 you need to use x or y instead, z is used for task2, and she acted like I was speaking a different language. Then she proceeded to ignore me and tell someone else to use z for task1. She claimed she thought I was talking about something else, but literally you had what you shouldn’t have been using in your hand and you thought I was talking about something else?? Like what? I can go on about the other things she doesn’t do and I get in trouble for it bc it’s made to look like if she’s not doing her assigned duties then I have to do it. Keep in mind my plate is overflowing bc I get assigned so many responsibilities without a given fuck to reassign some duties to other people, like they were assigned to me to take the weight off others. I’m also very underpaid and working on leaving bc it’s too much. No communication.

When someone schedules a last-minute meeting on a Friday afternoon. If you're going to drop a Friday meeting on my calendar that starts after 11 am, you better do it a couple of days in advance not the morning of at 10 am.

Not being setup for success by your leaders.

Month's of communication from my leadership team about them wanting me to take on expansion, be promoted, told there will be a compensation adjustment and aligned job title. But when the time comes they act like I already accepted the position so when I bring up formalizing the transition with onboarding, job title, compensation, and acceptance they quickly scramble to be on the same page and don't want to meet me where I'm at.

Instead they try to slip me in and be okay with it. Do the work without guidance or the slightest guarantee. Start next day and ditch my team.

Just awful.

 

Had an advisory board meeting today and had to order catering a couple of days ago based on who RSVP'd. Got a bunch of last minute addition so there wasn't enough food or vegetarian options around. I always knew secretarial work was punishing, and I'm doing this because we don't have a secretary for another month or two, but this was even more stressful than I anticipated. And I didn't even get the lunch I ordered for myself!

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

 

New CFO apparently told my boss he wants me to come into the office more often (I've been in normally 3 days a week) for like a month while he gets used to everyone. And specifically asked if I could come in today. Then he proceeds to leave early and we don't even go over anything he wanted to go over lol

Damn, thought my workday and week was shit, sad that others feel the pain, also annoying as shit any of us have to go through this.

My annoyance today was my manager and some other leadership members who don’t know how shipping companies work wanting me to magically have them create them.

“This needs to arrive in Italy by Tuesday!!!!”

well, when you don’t order it to ship until the Friday before, not much can be done.

“Can’t we ship it international air priority??????”

No we cannot.

“why?????”

because that type of shipping literally does not exist.

“I thought I heard someone say it once!!!!”

ok.

“so can we do that??????”

no, it is 4:35 pm central time. FedEx has already picked up all warehouse orders and again, and I can’t stress this enough, the method of shipping you have in mind DOES NOT EXIST. You are just saying words.”

And then I get a chat message on the side that I am coming off as “negative” and “not open to finding solutions”. My response was, “truly a shame that me providing facts about the situation is received as being negative. I would truly like to get better and would love to know what solutions you and the team think are possible. I’ll schedule something for Monday morning so we can get together and solve this! Let’s strike while the iron is hot!”

and then I got told my sarcasm was not appreciated.

 

That sounds terrible but I thought I heard someone say that once is fucking hilarious though.

 

i understand the annoyance but have pro trucker sympathies so im obligated to say in their defense they do this because theyre very often having to floor the gas to maintain decent speed and if they get stuck behind a slowpoke in the right lane it will cause congestion behind them and will be very annoying and hard for them to build up speed again to get around the person dragging ass, especially if there are hills. theyre basically just reserving their spot in the passing lane when they do that

 

I don't mind living alone until I need to have something delivered or fixed. There is always a very high chance it's gonna be some creepy man that will make me feel uncomfortable. I finally bought a washer today and had it delivered/installed and of course the one guy was extremely creepy and would not stop hitting on me. Super unprofessional and not appropriate at all. Please just do your job and leave me alone!

Grocery stores that all the sudden limit how many items you buy at a “discount”. Like item will be listed for low price but it say “first 2”, then you have to pay the higher price. Food is expensive as it is. Let me buy as many as I want.

 

not sure if it's a trend or what, but starting to get some wildly drastic size differences in tacos from restaurant to restaurant. finally got to try a really popular food truck over the weekend and ordered 3 tacos and they get served in the super small tortilla shells so 3 tacos was not very filling and then had to stand in line for another 40 minutes to get more lol

feel like the common hard shells you can buy at the store should be the default size that places need to start with or at least call it out on the menu.
