I think it's weird to be super angry about a team winning the lottery...and insinuating it is rigged, when the team had the 3rd highest odds to win.

I think that’s pretty weird

 

saying "getting rewarded for it" is acting like the NHL purposely decided to give them the number one pick because of the scandal. If you believe that then cool, but I find it a weird thing to believe.

 

They got rewarded with the chance of winning said lottery by not having to forfeit the pick, so yes, the NHL are rewarding them for it.

I didn't leap to "their" defense because I wasn't sure if "they" were still employed there. I figured I'd get the answer here quicker because a literal one-word yes/no confirmation/disconfirmation was all I was looking for. Nobody responsible was being "defended" so please spare me that disingenuous horseshit.

 

Even if it isn’t rigged, the league allowed them to keep picks and didn’t lose a single one. So instead of facing any sort of repercussions, they basically got to lay low, blatantly tank, and now get to reap the rewards of it.

It’s funny because giving the pick to Chicago just ensures the same people will follow the sport & the same white suburban families who can afford tickets will go to games. They also cut their fan development program & stopped sponsoring youth hockey in the city.

Jersey is a weird one because it’s a small market in a congested area but they left a big footprint nationwide in the 90’s & 00’s.
