$40 for a taylor swift 3LP almost seems like a bargain lol

 

So SNTV looks like it’ll be 22 songs total, of which 6 are vault tracks.

The OG Speak Now has 20 songs. 2 are acoustic versions and 1 is a “pop mix” of “mine.”

Take those away, add the 6 vault songs, that gives us 23 songs.

I think she will leave “better than revenge” off, and BAM! 22 tracks.

Dropping “Better Than Revenge” would be so weak. As Taylor notes, she wrote all the songs on this album between the ages of 18-20 years old. No one is perfect at that age, including Taylor, and erasing a piece of her history from that imperfect timeframe would be a disservice to her evolution as an artist and person.

 

Pretty sure both the Hunger Games songs and “If This Was A Movie” will be missing.

 

Maybe this is me being desensitized by much worse music throughout the years, but Better Than Revenge isn’t even really that bad? And for the authenticity and stated purpose of the process of re-recording, she’s gonna do it.

 

Excited for a 2 month rollout vs the 5 month we got for Red TV!

 

if she dropped If This Was a Movie, that means it's the standard album, Ours, Superman, and 6 others. not upset about it.

I clearly missed whatever thing has apparently caused her to possibly leave out Better Than Revenge but I hope it’s just rumors and it’s on there. But then I also don’t think I’ve listened to any TV album’s since the initial week of their respective release and listen to the originals when I do put her albums on so, guess it really doesn’t matter either way. Just want the bonus songs.

 

Yeah I guess my math is probably off, I read it at 22 + 6 but it's probably more likely 22 total huh. Obviously she can do whatever she wants, but it's a slight bummer that it might not be the all encompassing thing that Red is, with the acoustic version, Ronan, Babe, etc

 

Why are people wondering about “Better Than Revenge” more than “Innocent”? Both are messy, but the specificity of “Innocent” feels so awkward in 2023. Given the purpose and vision of this project, I think it makes sense to include everything, but that bit is gonna be a roadblock to a full listen.

 

Regardless, Speak Now remains my least favorite overall album of hers, but “Sparks Fly (TV)” will be such a great summer driving track just like the original was at the time. Such a bop.

 

Because Innocent is a song about how people can make mistakes and Better Than Revenge is about girls being slut-shamed

 

Maybe this ultimately goes into that age-old debate on “separating art & artist,” “death of the author,” blah blah blah…

But, for me. Knowing that “Innocent” is talking about Kanye West that way poisons the track more than a young woman making a “Misery Business” mistake and almost immediately outgrowing it. I don’t wanna listen to either, mind you. But, I especially don’t wanna hear in 2023 that Yeezy was “still growing up” or whatever, lol. Truly do not know how she managed to re-record it (assuming she did).

 

Better Than Revenge is a banger.

 

And “Enchanted” is about the dude from Owl City. It’s all a mess. Haha

 

yeah it's easy to put Better Than Revenge in the Misery Business category of sometimes people are messy and shitty and pardon the pun mean but that's human nature

 

That vinyl is gorgeous, definitely need to snag that.
But as I’ve learned with the last 4 Taylor releases, it’s better to just wait a few months and buy it on discount.

Spending $50+ on Red TV only to see it for $25 on Amazon a few months later really hurt lol

 

I say this with love but the title track is the most cringey song on the album, on an album with several of them. Also sis better come thru with the shaky breath on Last Kiss or I will riot

 

See, I feel the same about “Speak Now” as I do “Stay Stay Stay”—they’re both goofy and cringy, in the best ways, and I live.

 

Yeah, it sucks! I don’t totally understand it. The theory I’ve read is that she wants everything on here to be a solo write, which I get, but…come on, keep the project consistent.
