Damn, I just put on Come Close and wow.

Nothing off TTN or ATS makes me feel what this track still does to this day. Some get close but not quite the same.

The Capitol Demos ruined a bit of the S/T for me. I really love and generally prefer In Search Of. That album is underrated imo. It’s a bit more of a slow burn but I think the songs a bit subtler and are ones I still listen to now.

ISOSG absolutely sucks. They lost all the catchy hooks and technical riffs that made the S/T so great. The only good song that came from that album was Bury Me...which was a bside lol

No way, I Never Wanted To is an underrated banger. They should have added Let Go and replaced Bury Your Head...

ST is fun. But lyrically just isn’t what I’m interested in from the genre. Too straight forward.

ISOSG is the most disappointing record maybe ever.

That’s so far from the truth. I prefer it out of the two Cove albums. It doesn’t have singles as such, but Voices and You’re Not Alone are not tracks I really revisit as I get older. If you were judging it by emo bangers and singles then I can see why you might not rate it, maybe. As an alternative rock record I think it’s great.

Fireflies alone is a huge track.

I’d take at least half of ISOSG over voices and you’re not alone - they’re such generic songs from top to bottom

Bury Me is on Apple Music, but doesn't look like this one is.

Is S/T the best sounding album of that entire wave?

Easily, followed by Name Taken’s Hold On and The Bled’s Pass The Flask. Beau was on a Roll

This, and it’s not particularly close for me either

Name Taken could have been so much bigger I feel, given a bit more polish and refinement in their sound and they could have easily had a radio hit.

Hold On is a fucking gem. Listen to it all the time.

I prefer the Cove stuff, but I agree that ISOSG was a bit of letdown after S/T. That said, Voices and You're Not Alone were never my favorites...kind of generic songs imo. I'm interested to hear them live in a few weeks.

Does anyone need a ticket to the Charlotte show? You can have it for $20 haha. I accidentally bought a ticket to it the same night as Gaslight in Raleigh, so I am going to go to the Saosin show in Norfolk instead.

If anyone is hitting the Norfolk show let me know, we can clank a glass or two!

ISOSG is alright, but was absolutely a let down and the production/mix is lifeless

Voices is way better than anything on ISOSG for me.

Also every song from the TTN era is better than anything they made after.

Self-titled is far and away my favorite. I liked ISOSG back when it was released because it was Saosin but end up skipping some songs when they play now.

All the best songs were on the Grey EP and were better on that EP. Fireflies is pretty good I’ll give you that.

but I’d say the consensus based on reviews and fan sentiment is ST is miles better than ISOSG. Not objective truth but you are in the minority by a wide margin. Glad you enjoy it. It bummed me out so much when it came out. The album artwork change was the cherry on top.
