Love it! Fell down a bit of a rabbit hole of wondering where the other members of +44 are now:

The reason i went looking as their was an interview with mark a few years ago saying they hadnt spoke for years.

 

I always took it that they were both guns for hire

 

Yeah, I just always assumed they were friends of Travis and they were just there for touring. Basically the same situation as Anthony in Box Car Racer.

 

Anthony definitely didn’t feel like a hired gun though haha

 

Well he didn't play a note on the album, soooo....

No I mean it in sense HE himslef doesn’t feel that way lol….did you guys ever see his Instagram?
I don’t have IG myself for over the year but I remember him constantly posting about Box Car and how they were the best band and Mark ruined everything haha

 

Haha yeah I was picking up what you were putting down. He thinks he had a bigger role in the band than he actually did, for sure.

 

+44 or box car?

 

I was waiting for someone to say something like "Man you must have been thrilled when blink broke up and you were finally able to collab with Tom again for Angels & Airwaves....oh wait"

 

Both albums are fantastic, but I give it to Box Car.
I'd rank both those albums above every Blink 182 album post-Untitled.

BCR all the way!

I rarely listen to +44, aside from a certain handful of songs. Something about the +44 album as always sounded weird to me, not sure exactly what it is. BCR is just way closer to my own personal taste.

 

+44 is probably Mark's best collection of songwriting so I would probably rank it higher than BCR, despite BCR being obviously awesome.

 

Dude Ranch and +44 are definitely Mark's best

 

Def a BCR guy. More my cup of tea. Love the production and the drumming. It’s pretty much a segway into Untitled. Makes the jump from TOYPAJ to Untitled not as abrupt.

But +44 still hits the spot and is an easy listen. I love Little Death and Cliff Diving. Super happy to have been able to see them live and meet Travis and Little Chris before he passed.

BCR.... guitar tones on +44 are so horrid it makes it almost impossible for me to enjoy. I'd love a re-recording/remaster to see if it changes my opinion

Edit: I like the album just fine, I just think production bogged down what could have been an EXCELLENT record to a good one in MY opinion

 

Travis and Mark slay on +44. Guitars are better with BCR but peak Mark songwriting is hard to go against. I enjoy all of the projects equally I'd say. Each have their pros.

Can't say I've ever thought +44's guitar tones were bad but I haven't listened to that record in a long long time.
