Has the NBA always not done highest seed remaining vs. lowest seed remaining past the first round? I can’t remember. Confused that the Nuggies aren’t playing the Lakers

 

No it’s always been a set bracket.

 

I was confused on seeding, but no the 1 seed always plays the winner of 4/5 in the 2nd round

i would prefer a non-fixed bracket so jimmy can get bounced by boston again instead of facing the knicks but yeah that's the way it's always been

 

The bracket makes more sense to me, if they switch it they should do the first seed picking their first round opponent too.
