Was listening to this yesterday and thinking the exact same thing. Wouldve been really cool to get that for the first time in context. My fault entirely for listening to it so much though

  3. Hoping to see a digital release of Revelation at some point. Interested to hear how that song turned out, but not trying to purchase this record again just to get it haha.

It's an enjoyable listen on the first go. This might be one of those I listen to when on a flight next week to get my head completely around.

Separation was good, since then they've progressively declined. Last album was bad. This album is worse. Don't see this band surviving another album cycle.

Yeahhhhh you're a bit in the minority I think they're gonna be fine

But I feel like a large majority of their fan base is younger people (14-18) and I'm not sure they're going to enjoy this?

Their fan base from what I can tell is people ages 18-25. They definitely don't skew THAT young.

Maybe a new sound will attract new fans? Just a thought

That too. I'm interested to see who they tour with as support next year.

And even if they don't "blow up" they still have a pretty loyal base who keeps up with them every album. I'm definitely in that camp. The people who have stuck around since separation

Yeah absolutely. I think they'll be totally fine. And based on what Jon said in the Noisey interview they're not very (or at all) concerned about losing fans or pissing anyone off. They're doing everything on their terms.

    yeah good okay Prestigious

I dunno, maybe I'm missing something but it feels kind of uninspired. Most of the songs seems like throwaway tracks. "Afterparty" and especially "For a Walk" I just did not enjoy, and that's without mentioning the bad lyrics. Most of the other stuff is mediocre. "Postcard" is alright but repetitive. The only songs that really stood out to me are "Midnight Zone", "Fame", "Loam", and "Is It So Much to Adore" to a lesser extent. I definitely grew bored of this band and this wasn't on my radar but I figured I'd give it a go anyways.

Oh and a super minor thing, but that constant low-key spoken-word thing he does is mildly annoying, but that's just me.

I've never really been able to get into this band before, but I decided to give their new album a go, and I'm very much enjoying it.

Reading the Noisey article, seems like Bailey had a big influence lyrically. Would like them to read along with.

Really like this. I'm usually all for the heavier stuff 'Patience' and 'Notice Me' but this appeals to a lot of the music I listen to more regularly nowadays so I'm all for it.

Was not feeling Afterparty at all upon release, but it works really well in the flow of the record.
