Not quite the same but 2009-2013 or so might be one of my all time favorite time periods with the rise of Kendrick/TDE, OF, Drake, J. Cole, A$AP, Pro Era, MBDTF-era Kanye, industrial hip-hop... so much good shit

This blog era talk had me remembering this song, which was maybe my favorite (or most played) blog era song. I loved this song. Phil Ade really had something and a buzz and now I can’t find him anywhere. There’s only one solo song on Spotify, from 2017 weirdly, and a feature on a Wale record from the same year.

 

What a throwback. I had two other mixtapes from him at the time but I've long lost them to old drives I didn't back up

edit: They were named "The Letterman" and "Starting on JV", looking into my lastfm stats. Nvm both are on bandcamp.
