I am not the safest forklift driver

 

A forklift driving living on the edge

 

hey I've never had any major incidents, so

 

Don't fix what ain't broke

 

Josh isn't the only one being haunted anymore

 

the only job I ever worked a forklift they were supposed to have me do a little training thing in the parking lot where I'd maneuver around cones and shit but they just straight up never did it. next thing I knew I was loading engine blocks into the back of trucks with no training lol

still can't believe they allowed that

yeah I had to take an actual class the first time but every other "certification" I've done since has been "ok pick this pallet up, place it on a rack like 6 ft high, then bring it back down, and oh, wear your seatbelt"

tell us about the minor incidents

 

So I've run the gamut on back pain. I've gotten two injections - one only lasted two weeks the other maybe a month. Not worth the cost and the procedure is incredibly uncomfortable.

I've done physical therapy which does help a lot. But you can do a lot of the stretches at home. Look up McKenzie exercises. They really do help with lower back pain if you do them consistently.

I've also taken a drug called Meloxicam that works pretty well.

 

Will definitely look into doing some stretches and exercises that I can do at home. Thanks for the input. The pain flared up back in the fall, but went away for a little while until this week. Starting to think it might be something that sticks around so I'm looking to be proactive about it while I'm still young

 

one time I was turning a corner too fast and hit an upright with the back of the lift and put a dent in it

at one job we'd receive pallets of cases of paper towels/toilet paper that were basically the height of the trailer and I dumped quite a few of those over, that was mostly annoying because at that job we had 3 separate buildings each a block apart so I'd be spilling pallets on an actual street

stuff like that

 

at one place we had these electric pallet jacks like this and we could ride them around by standing on the forks and pushing the handle away from us

 

dude we used the manual ones that you just pushed and they were so fkin annoying to steer

 

allegedly I'll be moving to a new warehouse soon and I will be *demanding* an electric jack

 

prefer manual jack myself, feels more rewarding

I have to shop at Restaurant Depot once a week, and I have no idea how I've never been hit by one of their rogue forklift operators. They just whip around that place.
