it was super awkward when a sean murphy living in a town over was arrested for being a s*x offender and was found with lots of no no's on his personal computer and it was in the local news for a while. got a lot of fun texts that week.

Here's a recap of buying a house bullshit I'm dealing with

-sellers tell us they won't be able to close on 4/14 due to not having city-required repairs completed until next week. ask to delay closing by 2 weeks
-we find out they had the city inspection completed on 3/15 and have had plenty of time to get this done
-we decide to ask them for a $500 credit since they're technically breaching a contract we've had in place for months
-we send over an addendum with that info, the selling agent calls OUR LENDER to let them know the delay in closing, without telling us, and before they sign the addendum
-our agent calls us last night around 6, tells us he still hasn't gotten a signed addendum, allegedly because the sellers have been so busy with work, as if my fiance and I don't also have jobs
-this morning, selling agent says no to the addendum/credit, and "the city levied the requirements that make it necessary to extend the closing date, so what happens if on reinspection it has to be delayed again? will the seller have to pay another $500? sellers have operated in good faith and assumed the buyers will as well"

we knew the city was going to require an inspection before we ever stepped foot in that house! this isn't new info! what the fuck!

I'm confused why the city is requiring an inspection? Out here, you get laughed at for even including an inspection as part of your offer nowadays lol

from my understanding, this suburb of OKC was really loose with standards for a long time. in an effort to not let that continue, every house sold has to have an inspection by the city. We also had an inspection that we paid for, on February 14th.
