You're welcome. I always enjoy interacting with fans of the band especially about specifics of the process and the behind the scenes stuff etc.

Ryan, this is cool to see you reply to all these posts! What would be your favorite of the B-side YC track?

That song rips. I also love "Bombers" as a close second -- one of my steady favorites.

One of my favorite things about this record are the sounds you all created in that sort of ambient space -- for example, as 'A Place We Set Afire' fades out, as 'Empty Street' fades, etc. I also love the way a few times on the record, two tracks have no break between them. The attention to detail is incredible and the more I listen to the record, the more I notice and appreciate it. It really does give the record a whole other character and dimension.

Hey Ryan, over the career of Yellowcard, what are some favorite "out of the box" stuff you guys did in studio for your records?

Also, my favorite non album Yellowcard song is easily Gifts and Curses, love the song, love Spider-Man. The way the bridge builds and crashes into the end, wow. Thoughts on the new Spidey?

  10. First time in a while I have a spare moment to do some writing / editing.

We're down to about 2,400 words on this one. Hopefully I can have it out by this weekend.

The final tour starts tomorrow... shit. It's going to be really difficult not to spoil myself on a setlist.

Really, REALLY hope they play What Appears! I really can't get over how good of a song it is.

Can't wait for the Houston show on Sunday!

Stand outs so far for me are Rest in Peace, A Place We Set Afire, Savior's Robes, and Fields and Fences. A Place We Set Afire (especially the verses) really reminds me of Simple Plan from the "Still Not Getting Any..." album. "Perfect World" comes to mind. Just an observation that I keep hearing in my head.

There's plenty to say, though, I'm stoked to see you for three shows on this final tour. (NY, PHL, NJ). I've been to every tour since the hiatus ended and just want to give you a thank you. Every new record Yellowcard fills with me all kinds of emotions. Every album release day, I make it an effort to listen front to back in a setting that reflects the album art. I don't have this emotion, nor attachment to any other band. I could never get into a band as I am for Yellowcard. This ending is tough but I've been with you all, through it all. Stoked to hear some of these new songs on the final tour. Thank you, I would not have been captivated from this band if it wasn't for your work. Honored to have my name on Lone Tree Records credits and be a part of the final chapter of Yellowcard. Oh and let's get cheesesteaks in Philly when you come around.

I've still never seen Yellowcard live. They won't be close enough to Cincinnati for me on this final tour, and it's depressing to think this is it.

@stayouttamalibu When you guys re-signed with Hopeless this time around, did you know you were only going to do one final album at that point?

There is probably no way I can make it to the Atlanta date. I work retail and Novemeber 19th is a Saturday which will basically be impossible for me to get off for. However, Charlotte NC is the 17th on a Thursday and THAT I can probably swing. I had to do the same thing for Anberlin's last tour because they too just had to chose to do their calling it quits tour around the holidays haha. It's a lonely drive, but will be worth it for me.

(Listened to the album yesterday with headphones on riding my bike down this scenic bike trail and it was a very good time. Chief Ladiga trail to be exact. Also put on the songs Hollywood Died and Southern Air to finish it out.)

Bombers would definitely be a close second. FYI - there was a long hard discussion over putting that on the record over You Me And One Spotlight. At the last second we decided to make Bombers the b-side.

Stoked you like the details on the record, we definitely worked hard to make it a real experience. Funny enough though, I don't necessarily think there's more of that atmosphere/ambient space than there was on LAS, I think it's just the transitions that are more intentional.

that would certainly be a tough call. I really enjoy both songs. How did you guys settle on YMAOS? Was hoping to hear that song live back in the PW days. Have you guys even played that one live, ever?

Rough Draft, Gifts and Curses and Firewater are 3 of my favorite Yellowcard songs of all time, it says a lot that you always have had such strong b-sides.

And I know cover songs aren't everyone's cup of tea, but Violins and Everywhere are such well crafted cover songs, so major props there as well

Goddamn it do I love "Bombers." I bring it up every time it's mentioned, but for good reason, b/c it kicks asssssss

Give me an example of something you'd consider to be out of the box so I know the kind of stuff you're talking about. I also love Gifts and Curses, a lot actually, but I think Spider-Man is one of the weakest and most boring superheroes.

Never played it, and I think we settled on YMAOS by a vote which involved management and the label as well. Everyone ended up thinking the vibe of that song was a nice change of pace for the record compared to Bombers which was a little more standard uptempo energetic song etc, if that makes sense.
