The Rays pitching has proven they can stack up against any staff in the league for the last several seasons. Their offense, which they stood pat with this offseason, has showed out against some bad teams with bad to serviceable to somewhat good pitchers.

The young guys that they believed in enough to not pursue the top left-handed hitting talent have done better than anyone other than the Rays expected to start the year. Obviously, we will need to see these younger guys perform against better pitching before we can definitively say they will be dudes, but even if they don’t continue this level of production, you got a stacked farm system that you can leverage for a big splash trade to help for the last half or just call up Mead or Manzardo and see if they make the major league adjustments that others couldn’t.

And I don’t believe that the team that was reportedly ready to give Freeman 182 mil was so reluctant to give Brantley/Gallo/Belt money if they thought they were worth it. I truly believe they weren’t being cheap, but actually liked what options they already had (for, yes, a bigger discount) compared to the alternative and so far they look like they’re right. They’ll look right until they look wrong and if that time comes, I’ll join all my fellow slighted Rays fans in lamenting the lack of offseason moves, as is my right as a baseball loving, true blue American.

Nothing about the 6-0 start seems flukey to me, though some Twitter baseball people are wanting to try to sell that narrative. The rays were the better team in both matchups and won all their games. The teams that baseball writers love to pencil in as division winners or sneaky fringe playoff teams have not all done that.

I’m convinced the streak will stop at some point against Oakland, just because the Rays, every year, seem to forget the install their brains against them unless it’s in the wild card series. Not to mention how unlikely it is to win 7, 8, or 9 games in a row.

Tldr: hardly anyone really knows what they’re talking about with the rays and that doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon

At the Royals game now… what an MiLB experience/park this is. Also, it’s way too cold for a baseball game.

The replies are apparently trying to save Joey from a subpar chili experience, but I know nothing of Cincinnati chili joints

  24. so skyline sucks but gold star REALLY sucks the replies are correct there

cincinnati chili is just chili with spaghetti noodles in it and a lot of raw onions on top. it's good when someone makes it at home but the restaurant version is vom-inducing imo. not cincinnatis fault; chili just doesnt lend itself to fast food (sry wendys)
