First thoughts with a deep listen:

It's fine. I'm happy that we have it. Does it stand out to me like the EP? Not right now. Could get there.

 

Letter to an old poet - that’s it. That’s the song.

 

I had extremely high expectations and this definitely met them on first listen.

 

Not as immediately for me as the EP but I still haven’t been able to get a headphone listen in.

Of the so far unreleased songs, Satanist, Anti-Curse, and the closer are my standouts I think.

The film is fun so far

 

Still listening, but the stretch from "Emily I'm Sorry" to "Not Strong Enough" is real good.

Not Strong Enough is incredible.

(seeing this was one of the singles, and that was a good choice)

 

The gays can’t handle Phoebe and Lucy kissing and I’m here for it.

and Julien. I was just told I missed this.

 

Satanist is a jam

 

Liked it this a good amount. I though Julien really shines.

I'm sorry but people saying this is fine look silly when this is objectively the greatest piece of art of the 21st century.

Yeah this is great. All three of them have meant the world to me for years, and I’m so happy this exists. I’m sure I’ll have a lot more thoughts in the days to come.

 

I had other plans but I'm just curious where this was? They were so cryptic about it

 

Obviously this is good. Great even. I'm a little disappointed that "Not Strong Enough" is the easy highlight and most collaborative sounding. The rest mostly sounds like different solo cuts, which who can complain? I just felt like they created a whole new sound on the EP and I'm not getting that as much here.

Julien is the highlight for me up front. Felt like she was the least prominent on the EP so it's awesome to hear her shine here.

 

Didn’t know Melina played bass on this record. I love Jay Som so much. New Jay Som record please.

 

El Rey Theatre

 

Not done listening yet but Satanist is so fucking good, Cool About It has been my other highlight of the new songs so far, but it’s all great
