Thank you! This is what I’m getting at, I’m not coming for fall out boy’s moral character or anything. I just think being so on the nose makes me roll my eyes and knocks the song down a bit.

I’m happy fall out boy is back! The record is good! COVID is real and has killed millions of people! Get vaccinated & boosted! This was just my mild criticism. Ok I’m done thanks all.

The only good thing Ronald McDonald ever did was love OK Human as much as me. And he pissed off Ronnie Radke over his new trash song

Other than that he's the biggest waste of time ever

    Things have changed.

The bridge absolutely slams on "What A Time to Be Alive" and if you're not shouting "I GOT THE QUARANTINE BLUES BAD NEWS WHAT'S NEXT" you're just wrong!

LOL. It’s Green Day’s last album, Father of All Motherfuckers.

COVID was a once in a lifetime historical disaster that we are going to be talking about and thinking about forever. It's their first album since 2018. A lot has changed. What is outdated about writing a song from what we all went through in the last 3 years

'WHEN I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE, THIS ISN'T QUITE WHAT I MEANT!" is probably the funniest part of the whole song and I'm 100% sure that's what Wentz was going for.

of course they did. not saying how they went about it was 100% right because obviously it wasn’t. but the “this will just become normal / apart of our lives” was accurate. the “let’s not do anything about it in the meantime” was obviously dumb lol

the fact that it’s been years and we’ve heard 5883948439 songs about it. it was tiring when paramore did it, tiring when fob did it.

no one’s saying they can’t do it, but people are surely allowed to be turned off by it lol

  14. The revisionist history is too much for me. (And now giving me real Under no circumstances do we need to “hand it to them.” vibes)

when did i say “hand it to them”? would love to be pointed in that direction personally lol

they’re dumb as hell, how they handled covid 99% of the time was dumb. which is why more republicans than democrats have died.

but surely if you’re looking at what they said vs what dems said, they were expecting this to happen — and here we are. albeit they wanted it to happen asap with no vax (again, dumb). but the idea that society would just “get over” covid turned out to be true about a year ago lol

I still don't get how Paramore did it other than the "this is why I don't leave the house" line which applies to way more than covid, but that's probably a convo for another thread

  17. It’s a play on a dril post. Which is how I’m actually reading all these “don’t write songs or art that references the pandemic now” posts now, as bad bad posts.

I didn’t say not to write about them, in fact i’ve explicitly said the opposite many, many times by now.

i’m saying there’s a good portion of people who will be turned off by it, and they are just as “right” to be turned off by it as someone who’s not bothered by it. if we all agree music is subjective, you can’t step away from that when someone starts ignoring a song because they’re annoyed/bothered by the lyrics imo

my apologies, i forgot the majority of users of this site have the holier than thou “my opinion is solely right and anyone else who thinks differently must be wrong because music is subjective until it’s against us”

    my bad!

it is cringe *to me* to hear songs about something from 3 years ago and has largely been absent from people’s every day life for the last few 18 months

can they write about it? sure, like i’ve said probably 7-8 times by now, they’ve got every right to write about whatever they want.

i’m sure they knew doing so would bother some people, and i am 100% positive they care less than the people on here do lmao
