Honestly have no idea what you’re talking about. I saw this post right before I started a listen while reading the lyrics. Below are the chorus counts for each song.

    Other Side 3
    Heartbreak 3
    Grudge 3
    Fake Out 3
Heaven 2 and 1 double chorus
So Good 2 and 1 double chorus
    Muse 3
    Flu 3
    Kintsugi 3
What A Time 2 and 1 modified chorus
So Much 2 and a double chorus, outro is modified chorus, it’s close enough I’ll give you this one

I've listened to this album 3 times, and it keeps getting better each time I hear it. So excited for tour.

oh i didn’t it mean it like that or in any sort of discourse way! i just mean it rules having kids that are old enough to start shaping their own music taste and stuff

although hearing “PIZZA PIZZA PIE” every morning around 7:20am when they get ready for school listening to system is TIRING

Take arms, it'll all blow over Prestigious

I'm not loving this record as much as most of this thread is, but it's very comforting seeing all these posts flooding in for a new Fall Out Boy record, nice dose of nostalgia.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

Haha I should clarify that I meant “normally this would be judged but that fact that kids are into this is fucking awesome”

Maybe that was hard to convey over text gaha

right there with ya. have seen a few folks say they’re happy FOB didn’t just cash in on nostalgia, but that’s kinda what it feels like. the songs that are good are REALLY good, but there’s a lot i won’t come back to. but i am happy for folks who really dig it

will be interesting to see how it sells, i know they’ve had couple #1’s in a row and will be fun to see if they can knock morgan wallen off #1

I feel that Luke Combs' new album probably has a bigger chance than FOB. Top 10 for sure though.

  14. This record is great — I hear all eras of Fall Out Boy in this, and the balance of it all turned out something special. The only thing I have to add to this thread that hasn’t been said is that I can’t hear Heaven without hearing Saria’s Theme from Zelda lol. Maybe that’s a me problem

    forbidden chalice.

after listening to it thrice, this is a very fun album. the opener is still my favorite, but the melody on Hold Me Like A Grudge’s verses, that second part right before the pre-chorus with the middle finger line, is way too fucking good lol. been stuck in my head all day.

only aversion i have to this album so far are the odd lyrics here and there that directly mention the pandemic (and the quarter pounder line, but i get that one. it feels very cinema and i love pete’s spoken word interludes), but i can get over those im sure. however, it’s absolutely criminal that they do the build up at the end of Muse and just.. let it go. give me the break down!!!!

I am so happy to be into this band again. One of my favourite groups growing up, and it was a bummer not to like much post-reunion material.

But this is pretty much immediately my third favourite from them, and it might grow. Every song slaps, hard.

The pandemic/quarantine references take a bit to get used to, but it feels weird to ask artists not to mention the biggest, most fucked up thing most of us have ever experienced. They also went through it, and with time, I expect it will be less jarring.

I don’t get why people are bothered or whatever by pandemic related lyrics. We all lived through it. It makes total sense artists will reference it in some way, especially on their first album “post” pandemic.

I grin like a moron at the Chubby Checker interpolation on "I Am My Own Muse", every single time. Who else would even attempt that lol

Deleted So Good Right Now and What Time To Be Alive and the album got significantly better.

Heartbreak and Kintsugi are some of the greatest FOB songs ever for sure.

Not sure what others are hearing in What A Time that they consider bad. I would understand not enjoying I Am My Own Muse bc of the theatrics but What A Time is as infectious as their old stuff.
