I'm excited to dive in tomorrow. Never thought I'd say that about a FOB record in 2023, I really thought I'd cooled on them.

 

Yeah idk where the cool kids go for leaks these days.

 

Heaven, Iowa has such a sick chorus.

Hold Me Like A Grudge is insane, what a ripper holy shit

 

I stole my mac book from my college back in like 2015. It is so old. So slow. I use it annually 1 time per year for my fantasy football draft and the other time when an album is out on a Thursday and I want to download it and put it onto my OLD ipod to listen to an album. Only 1 or 2 albums per year I do this for.

This will be one of them!

 

The last three songs here really kick this thing to a whole other level for me. Pretty good record.

 

I'm glad the first two songs were the singles, makes me excited for the rest of the album. "Love From the Other Side" is such a kickass lead single. And "Heartbreak Feels So Good" really is a better version of most of their singles since AB/AP lol that post-chorus vocal run in particular. Patrick sounds great even if the lyrics are silly. The Nope line is still so bizarre, but it works for me

Great album! What a Time To Be Alive is the CLEAR standout imo

love how they have the 50’s-ish groove on several of the songs, harkens back to Dance Dance a bit. Album is absolutely not a retread at all. Excited to get to know these songs better

 

Final three is the best sequence on the record

 

Gonna be in the minority here, but this album is just fine to me. Definitely better than the last few, but not something i will probably listen to much going forward. Still really dig love from the other side though.

 

yeah What a Time to Be Alive is a jam.

Wow, I love "So Good Right Now" lol again, very Queen. Not head over heels with anything else yet but the synth and guitars sound so good on this record

The orchestral elements on several songs here rule and are a really nice touch, elevates several songs
