Finally finished You S4. I can't believe I'm saying this but this was kinda great? Loved the ending. Might be one of the better seasons and it ends with saying, shit, this really can keep going and stay fresh.

Were getting to house of cards territory of villainry. Good stuff

 

Watching The Empress. Love watching the feeling of creeping impending doom, especially knowing all these people have horrible endings.

i also like that they're teasing Maximilian being a puppet of the French already. I hope they get to the Second Mexican Empire stuff eventually in future seasons.

 

Started The Americans. On ep5 and it’s p good

 

I didn't feel like this when I first started it, but in retrospect I think The Americans might be one of the best shows ever. Need to revisit it one of these days.

 

Watching The Empress waiting for Bismarck, Garibaldi, and Napoleon III to show up like I am waiting for a super cool character I know from the books in HotD or Rings of Power to show up lol.

 

I fell off of like all TV at a point. But the first two and a half seasons of The Americans is incredible. I really need to go back and start from the beginning at some point.

 

When does it get good? I'm also about five episodes in and just waiting for it to hook me

 

I remember liking it a lot right away. But I also love Keri Russell, so, yea.

 

I don't recall there being a specific turning point for me. I've only watched the series once, and I started binging it when it was still in the middle of it's run so a lot of it blurs together. I remember it being slower than I thought it was gonna be and not as thriller-y from ep to ep, but by the end I really appreciated the performances, writing, meticulousness, and the emotional throughline from where the show started to its end. I think it's a rewarding experience if you stick with it.

 

The Americans was an incredible quarantine watch, especially the biohazard season lol. I feel like each season gets better as it goes

 

I tried the pilot a few months back and it seemed a bit corny. Never got back to it. I’ll give it another shot though eventually bc I only hear good things

 

Very enjoyable show

 

Decided to give this a shot tonight. Watched the first episode and found it decent if not meandering, occasionally a little silly and on the nose (a cartoonishly evil venture capitalist gets murdered by a walrus while out plundering for gold in the antarctic for example), and perhaps even guilty of being a bit pretentious at times despite its good intentions.

Then I watched the second one. This is the whale episode and it’s bound to be one of those IYKYK moments because I - boy, I just don’t know about this lol.

 

I feel off the Americans in season 2 or 3, I thought it was just okay.

 

The finale of the Americans is so earned and probably one of my favorite things ever

 

What even is that show about? I hate Americans

Super Troopers 2 was unwatchable so I’m sure this will be too

 

The Americans is the best show and gave me my first and only avatar. It’s right there with The Sopranos and Deadwood for me, just such high quality television.

 

I’ll admit I never watched Sopranos or The Wire or Deadwood but I’ll put the Americans with the best of shows

 

This season of Shadow and Bone is a huge step up from season one. And they wildly reshuffled plot points, so it feels really fresh as a reader to not know what’s coming at some points.

 

Haven’t shut up about it all weekend. They had some incredibly satisfying payoffs

 

Starting watching Dark. This has one of the best themes/title card combos of modern tv. This and Yellowjackets are top of that list.
