The Linda Linda’s are playing lolla doubt they come back for riot a month later

 

Lolla lineup got me real excited for what is still a possibility for Riot this year.

 

They are on other Live Nation festivals this year, so that's probably not the case.

 

between lolla and pitchfork, the lane is really wide open for riot to book who they want, nothing that was primed for riot has been swiped out from under us, except maybe soul glo on Pitchfork. for once they are only battling against the other rock fests (LTL, blue ridge, and furnace) instead of the other chicago fests

 

There's definitely bands playing both Riot and Furnace.. always is

Trying not to wish too hard for a Foo Fighters / Paramore / Postal Service top line in case I jinx it and we get like Weezer and Stone Temple Pilots instead.

 

oh for sure, im sure we will overlap with all 3 in some way or another, was more speaking in terms of who is gonna pull the more curated line up, or get the cooler exclusive set, or more interesting/rare bookings, etc..

 

I can definitely see Paramore headlining this. Glad people are on-board with that idea this year! Haha.

Really happy for Deanna and the rest of Sincere Engineer for getting on Lolla, too! That's a solid opportunity for them.

 

Riot is far less niche than Blue Ridge and Furnace IMO

 

Furnace Fest is definitely niche. Blue Ridge always feels like a poorly-run and slightly more diverse (but not by much) Wimmer festival. LOL

 

xxxxxxxx/paramore/postal service is a great top 3.

 

and Chicago could just be part of Paramore's next leg of their US tour because there are other major markets not on their current routing.. I'd wait until they announce that before jumping to conclusions, I don't want anybody thinking they are definitely playing Riot to be disappointed lol.. this happens like every year

 

With Four Chord being announced & it being Aug 12-13, the overlap between Riot could be there or it could be entirely different. Last year they were only a few days apart if I remember correctly

 

This is 100% exactly what I was saying It's like The Maine vs Good Charlotte. Same analogy with my parents at the grocery store hearing Good Charlotte, but The Maine will get the same 5 thousand people to fly across the country every year no problem

What happened was Huston Powell, the guy who books the acts for Lolla, was in the Lolla discord asking people for undercard suggestions to help finish the lineup and someone in the discord responded suggesting Sincere Engineer and then he said he would book them. Kinda wild how that happened! Someone was just like…hey book this band in the undercard and he was like okay sure!

 

ok, still doesn't man they arent direct competitors. they are all rock based fests in the fall on the eastern half of the country, they are all competing even if not directly, they all want to be THE talked about line up, and a destination for rock fans. all i was trying to say is that seems this year more people will be debating "should i do riot or furnace?" or "riot or LTL?" instead of "riot or lolla/p4k this year".

 

Bully's out, they're playing Thalia in August.

 

Less Than Jake is out, playing Chicago in July

 

Not out, because last year they played HOB in Chicago in July AND Riot... but very unlikely
