I mean, it’s either the Packers get any sort of draft picks for him or he just retires and they get literally nothing lol

sure the Jets have more to lose if it doesn’t go through, but if it doesn’t happen Rodgers isn’t going to play and just retire

I mean he could still show up and be an ass the entire time if he doesn’t get traded, and create issues at practice etc. wouldn’t put anything past that dude

While that's true it'd also very much hurt his trade value given the Jets could then expect him to do that for them if he doesn't get his way, so I'm not sure if that aspect is leverage for the Jets (it could be but I dunno, it's a weird tightrope to walk being malcontent while convincing your next team you won't be malcontent)

The option of retiring certainly is though

Why would the packers want to keep paying him not to play for them, they haven’t even signed anyone to help Jordan love yet lol yeah, they should wait longer.
