I really hope you're both wrong actually, lemme explain my reasoning. I think to become emotionally attached, to feel emotion you're gonna have to have tunnel vision, dead set focus on only Ellie's POV to "get it". Same with Abby's POV. I feel it'll cheapen the experience if everything's jumbled together and we're witnessing both POVs simultaneously. We won't feel the urgency. I'd hope they film both seasons at the same time, and release them around 6 months apart, instead of having to wait a year. I just feel the focus has to be in one POV to emotionally invest in Ellie's journey, and then the abrupt ending followed by the subsequent opener if kid Abby will really fuck with people, in both good and bad ways just like the game. And like they've said already, the backlash of part 2 is unimportant to them, as long as they get ANY reaction they're happy.

Finally was able to watch this last night.

Can't say much that everyone else here hasn't already said. Excited to pick up this game when it comes to PC in like two weeks.

 

Also, I know its a fairly common name, but I just got cc'd on a email with someone named Joel Miller lol.

 

Also it's pretty crazy that this conversation of "was Joel right or wrong" is permeating to the forefront of popular culture now. At least y'all have about a year to discuss it, I remember that long 7 years between the games haha.

 

Marlene has to know that Anna lied, right? So if she knows that Ellie is immune due to her birth mother being bit before birth, why don't the fireflies just try to recreate that?

I mean they were going to just kill Ellie without telling her I’m sure they can set up someone giving birth to get bitten.

That's what experimentation is for, duh! Get three mothers, let one get bit during labor, cut the 2nd's with a knife used to kill an infected, and do nothing with the third for your control. An easy solution!

This is the only show where I hope they wait like 3 years to do season 2. Bella Ramsey needs to age up a bit before they do anything from Part II.

She is going to be older than Ellie was.

 

Yeah Bella is already 19. I don’t think they will age much more in 2-3 years.

I definitely think a change of hairstyle closer to game Ellie from Part 2 will do a lot of leg work, and wardrobe choices will help too.

Also the arm tattoo will add a lot. (Not much of a spoiler but kind of a significant character design choice that will be new.)

 

Yea I have no doubt Bella will pull it off just fine.

Neil already said their layout for season 2 (and 3) is pretty much done. Abby will 100% be in the show at some point.

But I really don’t think the plot structure as it is in the game will work for TV so it’ll be interesting to see how they decide to do it. I do think she’ll be in the second season though.

 

How…how would you do a portrayal of the second game without including Abby? Lol

edit: oh wait I see. I guess it’s possible we don’t see her until season 3 if it’s going to take multiple seasons to cover it
