Counterpoint: spaghetti is one of the best and most versatile shapes of pasta. It comes in different thicknesses and shapes and is suited for a variety of dishes.

all pasta shapes are good in their own right. Spaghetti with carbonara sauce is top tier, angel hair with shrimp scampi if wonderful, a nice fat pappardelle with bolognese is otherworldly

None of you can stop me from saying all of these pasta names in my head with an exaggerated italian accent

this is it. all pasta shapes are good when used appropriately. Typically I do prefer a flat pasta like tagliatelle or fettuccine to spaghetti, but I wouldn't use either over spaghetti for a carbonara or cacio e pepe.

even ditalini can be used well. put ditalini in your in your pasta e ***ioli or minestrone and thank me later.

Spaghetti becomes kind of obsolete when you discover bucatini.

Lasagna is low key overrated. It’s good but other dishes use the same ingredients better

This is the best pasta dish in terms of effort to flavor/deliciousness ratio. If you want to impress someone and aren't great at cooking make this, it's so fucking good.

The orzo version is insanely good too.

Also if you're using jarred/canned red sauce, stop immediately and just make this:

So easy, only 4 ingredients and so much better than anything premade. It's all about the tomatoes.

If you can find these, get them:

Even the best pasta is mid. B grade food at its very best. Waste of an order at a nice restaurant
