My hope is that they fit the entire Pt II game into the first episode of Season 2.

 

As long as it’s 25 hours long we good

 

I mean they are sort of milking it, but I’m not complaining because that means they’ll be able to expand on stuff that Part 2 did not expand on. I fully expect them to turn the second game into three seasons.

 

I’m at the part of Part II where Ellie makes it to the Aquarium and I have no idea how much game i have left but i wanna finish so bad because i don’t want to get spoiled!

If you actually want to know... vaguely vaguely spoilerish answer below. If you play another 15 minutes though, you'll have this answer for yourself (you'll know by the context of what happens what % through you are - there will be a title / location card that gives a big hint as to where in the story you just hit
Maybe 40%? After this you have passed probably the biggest surprise that the game will throw at you. The whole game on 2 play throughs for me was in the high 20's, low 30's each time (for total hours).

There are other story surprises coming, so keep going, but you're about to hit the biggest moment in the game that someone could possibly ruin for you and have it really matter. (and that's strictly game, I highly doubt that the show will run as far as the game does before touching on certain plot points).

So I've been reading a lot of press and interviews after last night's finale and I remember reading they'd be open to covering Part 2 in two OR three seasons.


I can honestly see this kinda. They could do standalone episodes ala Bill or give other factions screentime. Yeah it could screw possibly with where season 2 would most likely end via THAT middle point, but I've also been wondering how much screentime would be given to Abby's route, because then we have the OTHER POV switch after their showdown and Ellie's subsequent hunt for revenge. Of course they could end season 3 exactly before or after the theater showdown and come back for season 4 with maybe......6 episodes? And have that season spend at least one, maybe 2 episodes on Abby and getting caught, then the remainder is Ellie.

 

To me, it would make for poor television to do it the same way as the game and there's already a lot of argument and debate if it even worked for that format. I'd bet anyone that they restructure the seasons events. However, there's a reason I'm not in television. Smarter people than me in that department are the ones pulling the strings. I just don't see how it would work to try to do two separate halves that give you a different perspective in each with a convergent point at the end

 

I'm thinking (layout for seasons 2-4) do both Abby and Ellie's story concurrently (honestly the only way I think an adaptation will work, because new viewers won't want a full season of just Abby's perspective), season 2 ends with Day 1, season 3 ends with the theater showdown, and season 4 everything after the theater showdown.

 

Insane. I’m glad this is doing extremely well. It shows video games can translate well on tv if done right. Though, it helps TLOU was a cinematic game already, but still.

 

Finally finished the last episode. Goddamn what a fantastic season. I lost my mind hard when the giraffe showed up.

 

The Super Bowl weekend episode had the most viewers but as the season progressed each episode had more viewers then the previous one

Idk if this really requires spoilering but I am just in case Laura Bailey made a “secret” cameo as one of the nurses in the OR!!!

 

Same role that person played in the first game.

 

Good finale, good season. It’s hard to not be a bit bummed that they condensed so much. Actually furious Joel didn’t smash a single brick on somebodies head. That’s the whole game! It’s about a dude finding bricks and smashing them on dudes heads. They missed the mark and it’s fucked.

the lack of action and infected made the journey seem too easy compared to the game. It was just two buds camping and and laughing at puns with a couple brief rough patches.

it really bums me out that we only have Joel for a brief period of time and we just zipped through it.

 

was she one of the nurses in 1, too? I was thinking the iykyk was referencing her role in 2 and the connection to the scene. She’s just credited as “additional voices” on IMDb so I guess she could be.

Great finale. I have almost zero knowledge of Part 2 so I assumed Joel was not making it to the end of this.
