Both fiction Sekret Machines are good, haven't tried the non fiction ones yet.. Chasing Shadows is really good has a cool sci fi/thriller aspect of jumping around characters... the second one is still good but definitely slower paced

 

Confession - felt the exact same way about My Chem.

I've been curious about the Sekret Machines books for ages, the Chasing Shadows one has pretty good reviews.

Same here - I was always more into pop punk - Enema came out when I was in 6th grade, so 6th through 8th it was mostly pop punk & skate punk for me.

When emo got big I was right in the middle of my high school Ska phase, so I completely missed out.

It wasn't until I met my now wife where I got to re-discover a lot of these bands that I missed out on, since she was way more into the emo / warped tour scene.

Made seeing My Chem last year a much more amazing experience - that's for sure.

This is basically exactly how I was (except I was getting more into hip hop, metal, basically anything else at that time).

I have a lot of friends my age who are always like “you going to see [popular emo band]?” They’re always surprised when I say I wasn’t a fan of that band growing up considering I still listen to (and play) a lot of pop punk stuff.
