Extremely unpopular haha

 

For me Thursday, Coheed and Avenged all took a a bit for me to get into them because of the vocals. I'm glad I warmed up!

I have never had an issue with geoff's voice before but I do have an issue with that new found glory dude's. and the Coheed guy.

 

I can't stand NFG anymore but that dude's voice got so much better between Catalyst and Coming Home

 

Geoff's voice definitely takes a lot of getting used to, and Claudio's did for me too.

 

I've never had any issue with Claudio's voice actually. I tend to gravitate towards odder/more unique vocalists anyway, which is why I found it unusual that it took me such a long time to get into Thursday.

 

I want to say if I came into Coheed during the later years I probably would have been fine right off the bat, but Flavor House and Blood Red Summer were my first songs and even though I love them, I was super taken aback.

 

I think the Coheed singer has a unique voice, while the Thursday guy has a pretty normal singing style that just happens to be pitchy and nasally

Not super into non-heavy Thrice. Illusion of Safety and Artist in the Ambulance are all I really like. Got like three tracks into the new one stopped. Made it 5 for the new TBS.

 

In what world is the new Thrice not heavy?

 

it's not as heavy as their first two (or three) albums.

It's way closer to their old material than, say, beggars

 

Beggars is the only Thrice album I liked. I listened again within the past two years and was pretty lukewarm to it.

I also don't like any Thursday albums. I gave them a chance, don't find them appealing to me.

 

In my personal opinion, band stopped being good after Americana and the records that followed has been worse and worse.

 

Also, I don't mind Claudio's voice. Reminds me a lot of Geddy Lee's.

 

I loved Beggars the first time I listened to it, and have not listened since. Never listened to Major Minor but the new album was playing in a record store I was in and dug it

 

I'd say it's closest to Major/Minor. No way is it like anything Artist and backwards. Death from Above has some Vheissu tones to me, but that may be it. Beggars really doesn't sound like anything they have except earth ep.

 

You should listen! The opening riff in Yellow Belly will make you so glad you did ☺ plus it has Words in the Water.

 

But it's not a stretch to call it heavy

 

I go back to Beggars once in awhile, Major/Minor not so much.

 

I'm late but why listen to music then? Go listen to a book or something
