Cole makes sense. Plus it lets you go with Darby to be the one who finally dethrones him which like... the more I think about it the more it feels like Darby is the only option for who can do that

 

I just don’t care about MJF

Gotta give them credit for how they book MJF. He hands Punk his first loss. He says he'll out-wrestle Danielson.

My god, I hope MJF switches his finisher because of this match

And yeah, its Adam Cole. Funny enough, in the exact opposite situation of Hangman's reign, but, the exact right guy to run out against MJF, get a few quality matches, some good promo work, again having a partner that supports him vs MJF's sad sack character now...it writes itself.

Hangman's gotta be the guy that beats him though. Tapped Mox. Is tougher than Mox and Danielson, by virtue of like 3-4hrs of brutal matches. You kind of have to make him THE guy as a face.

And, he's also clearly teased turning heel via the Dark Order whenever they want to pull that trigger

 

This AEW vs WWE tribalism is awful and it’s even worse when people like you who change their opinion like the wind blows just trend hop lol

 

Bryce lowkey MVP of that section where they rolled around doing near falls for like 5 straight minutes

 

I literally said it was a good show and on twitter I said it may be the best AEW title match ever

I just don’t care for the MFJ character at all and therefore won’t tune in consistently on Wednesday

If AEW finds its stride again, we're about to have the best 6 months of wrestling, maybe ever? WWE is on fire building to WM (which will be a massive sellout and success in THE media city). Roman can make like 5-6 different guys careers depending how they pay it all off. AEW is gonna do DoN AND another Forbidden Door that may well pull in Sasha Banks or Ibushi. Kenny and The Bucks are now free to work as singles/tags in divisions that need them. And sitting there all along is the chance that Bryan Danielson gets to work a G1.

Pre-AEW, there was that time after AJ Styles debuted, his feud with Cena, Kenny in G1 and his Okada feud...every PWG event featured future stars...LU hadnt yet died its death...that felt like peak wrestling. That took like 2 years. We could see that level of quality AND shakeup by the time Summerslam airs.

Cause that doesnt even talk about what Jay White or Ospreay or a now-heel Okada is doing...

I legit don't understand how you can be a fan of pro wrestling and not care about MJF

company has certainly had a few misteps over the past year. But good wrestling is good wrestling and good wrestlers are good wrestlers. And MJF is a good wrestler. And that was a good wrestling match.

 

So they build up Cole and MJF - Cole will have to go through 7 different stipulations for a title shot at DoN - it’ll be a great match and MJF will cheat to win

And then Punk shows up

 

Danielson is the greatest wrestler of his generation, possibly ever.

Though, don't rest on your laurels. My plan is to run each night of WM as a separate card, and on WM Night 2, give each of the champions so far (so, Royal Rumble, Elim Chamber, Revolution, WM Night 1) a few point bonus. Though I guess I'll actually have to watch some RAW/SD between now and then to find some props for the non-Bloodline matches

 

Sure but his character work is just the same old same old - he’s been doing the same exact beats for years now with no tweaks and he never wrestles on TV so why tune in? Lol

 

You gotta respect him so much for not caring about winning in AEW and just making other wrestlers look awesome and putting them over

 

I imagine if Punk shows up it won’t be for a title feud and you have to give AEW the benefit of the doubt after a great show tonight. I’d hope MJF and Tony would know that they can’t keep using the same story over and over again. This feud already had diminishing returns before the match lol

 

Gotta love how much they put over Bryan on commentary too. Did WWE ever acknowledge him as one of the all time greats? Doubtful

 

Maybe I'll be wrong, but it feels like they are jumping straight to the person angle for the MJF/Cole feud. I think Cole will wrestled 3-4 matches just to prove he can still go...but that'll be VERY different than Danielson or Mox or Punk doing so.

Funny enough, they'll be in Pittsburgh and FL back to back weeks (Britt and Cole's "home towns") in that build

 

Almost every MJF feud has had the same story so far haha

if Punk comes back he’s either feuding with MJF or going for the trios titles with FTR
