I hyped as fuck for mania. Bought the worst tickets I’ve bought for anything in my life. It’s gonna be fun. Sorry dorks.

 

Everywhere else: Mania looks like it will be good this year.

Chorus: Mania looks shit this year because Sami didn’t win and Omos is on the card.

Omos/Brock will be 3 minutes tops. Bray/Bobby won’t be long either. Bangers in the shape of the main title, tag title and the Raw women’s championship. Logan Paul/Rollins will be ridiculous. Intercontinental three way will be the best kind of hoss. Cena wrestling. Possible HITC match with demon Finn. A few matches I have no interest in, sure, but it’s impossible to have a stacked two day card without some dross.

I can’t wait.

Also the “Omos is wrestling Brock, Vince must be back” take is tired as hell already. And not just on here, everywhere. It’s Mania. You’re gonna get spectacle matches, legends and celebs. It’s been that way since the first Mania haha

 

this morning on reddit I saw someone say it's fine to still enjoy Chris Benoit matches because "you can separate the art from the artist" and they used JK Rowling as an example

so this thread could be much worse

It might be fun to see Brock throw Omos around for 5 minutes

 

Yeah, these strike me as the three dud matches, but, clearly 2 of them are gonna be <5min, basically bathroom break style matches...and Charlotte/Rhea is gonna suck because Charlotte hasnt been interesting in a while.

This would have been on the dud list, but, if they make it a HIAC match, it'd actually have me excited to see it

 

Brock vs. Omos will legit be like 4 minutes and that's fine. The build is bad, as there's no real motivation for Brock to fight Omos other than "I want to slam big guy," but it's hardly a waste of a spot.

What's not fine is Bob Lashley getting the Bray Wyatt match. Bray has no real motivation to go after Lashley, and Lashley's only motivation for fighting Bray is "fuck, this guy is annoying. Let me beat him up."

The rest of the card is good

 

Problem is Omos is deeply unathletic. He's not Braun or Joe or Kane or, hell, even Big Show, where he's gonna get any air on any of Brocks moves. He's just painfully slow and I think the odds Brock hurts him are higher than that the match will be interesting

Also, Lashley was doing good work...if he's back heel with the Hurt Business, there's a spot for them to actually put over a babyface big in classic WM fashion...like what is Montez Ford gonna be doing?

 

I’d actually be stoked for Edge/Finn if the story didn’t drag out

 

This is gonna be a damn near perfect WM match, btw. Also one that probably goes <10mins, but will be right in line with the energy of like Sami v Johnny Knoxville

Most of chorus seems excited too? My lack of enthusiasm shouldn’t really impact anyone else lol. Hope everyone here genuinely enjoys!

 

I think the mania card is fine - it’s like every other card from the last decade - some great matches some stinkers and a few that have no business being good being awesome

 

Aside from Roman Cody it all seems very repetitive and unoriginal. None of the feuds or build ups have been great and I’m just not really all that excited about any of the matches above.

The KO Sami v BL is an exception if it happens. Vince blew it by not putting the belt of Sami, could have changed it all.

 

Montez Ford is gonna win the US title in a ladder match

 

That and every Edge singles match since his return have been the drizzly shits

 

Hopefully it will be one of those years with surprises and matches that exceed expectations.

 

Dom retiring his father would give him the best heat ever too

 

We used to have Mania cards like this, we are light years ahead of this now:

 

The last really bad mania was 32 in Dallas with the bad Ambrose/Brock match and the awful Reigns/Taker main event

EDIT: might have mixed that up - I think Dallas main event was the HHH/Reigns slog

 

Vince? Have I missed something?

 

Only good ones from that were Becky v Charlotte v Sasha and the IC ladder.
