I can back the Vikings secondary being much better despite the Eagles overachieving there thus far but Front 7? Nope nope and nope.

I would agree on a push but I think the Eagles DL is better than Minny's.

Kind of a silly discussion regardless though because they're both among the Top 5 in the league.

 

More interested in Vikings/Texans this week than I am in Vikings/Eagles at EOM. That should be a good one!

 

This will be the game where every opinion I have on the coaching staff will be solidified and finalized

The Vikings and Eagles are very very close. Right now, the Vikings have a better front seven. At the end of the year? Probably the Eagles. The Vikings better bank on a badass second round pick to replace Chad Greenway though since they traded a first rounder for the GOAT Sam Bradford.

Won't the 2nd round pick be gone too if Bradford pans out? I thought the conditional could become a 2nd

 

I could see the argument that the Vikings are better so I won't argue it but when I look at it, I see that both defenses have at least one elite player in their front seven (Fletcher Cox-Anthony Barr) and then some very good pieces around them, I just like the Eagles depth more than the Vikings.

Connor Barwin and Mychal Kendricks as a rotational piece is something not many teams can say they have. Actually, Barwin has been starting so I guess more so Vinny Curry as a rotational piece is probably more appropriate.

I think that is why the Eagles front seven has excelled outside of just having good football players but pretty good depth so they can consistently have the fresh bodies in.

 

I thought that was only if they make the Super Bowl or some shit. If they traded a 1st and a 2nd for that guy...

Two weeks ago I'd have said your win over KC meant you can battle Minny and Denver but now the KC win doesn't look that impressive since 3 teams have done that to them already haha

 

It becomes a 2nd if the Vikings win the Super Bowl. 3rd if they make it to the NFC Championship. 4th for any other result.

 

Yeah and we weren't exactly extremely impressive in the win either

Don't get me wrong I'm happy about it but there was a LOT that went wrong for us and needed to be worked on, and all those things reared their heads against NE.

 

The Vikings have way more "very good" players than the Eagles though. I easily take Everson Griffin over Nigel Bradham for example. And I think not calling Linval Joseph an elite nose tackle is a mistake.

 

I just want the Eagles to draft Sidney Jones next year....that's literally all I want. He will be there in the late first. Take him with that Vikings pick. Thanks

 

I like the Eagles' depth more for sure. I just really love Hunter-Joseph-Floyd-Griffen. I think the Eagles have, like their offense, more upside. And a lot of that has to do with their depth players.

 

Well Everson Griffin and Nigel Bradham play different positions. I'd take Xavier Rhodes over Caleb Sturgis, too.

 

Is it possible that Jordan Matthews is better than we gave him credit for and Chip is just somehow awful with NFL WRs?

 

Okay, but we're still also forgetting Harrison Smith is an elite free safety. So that's 3 elite players - Smith, Joseph, and Barr - to your Fletcher Cox. Let's not underrate the Vikings because you want to beat them.

 

I think this question is probably better suited for Nelson Agholor. Jordan was still very good last year with Chip and has been good this year as well. Nelson Agholor looked like complete dogshit last year and he's looked MUCH better so far this season.

 

Both Newman and Rhodes are better than either of your corners. We can do this all day haha

 

I'm not going to argue with you. You think the Vikings are better and I think the Eagles are, that is completely fine.

We can both agree both defenses drop a massive turd on the garbage in Jacksonvile though, no?

 

I've been seeing a lot of McCaffrey. If I am betting on one pick, it's that one. You consciously traded Murray and opted for a tandem of Matthews, Sproles, and Smallwood. McCaffrey is the guy haha.

 

Wasn't Matthews like a drop king last season? I won't act like I know everything about how he played, it just seemed to be the case (although he wasn't #1 in the league in drops or anything like that I don't think)

 

I just think we're already starting to treat the Vikings like we treated the Panthers last year. They're better than any of us expected and instead of embracing it we are all looking for excuses why Bradford is going to fuck it up.

The fact is they are still a top range team even without their starting QB and RB and that's what is scary.

 

I wouldn't hate that either but I think he goes before the Eagles pick since it'll likely be in the 24-32 range. Not to mention, Wendell Smallwood is thought of highly with the Eagles and he looked good against Pittsburgh in his first extended action so we will see how the rest of the year goes for him and how true their need is for a top tier prospect.
