But I'd say the Eagles offense has more upside.

Eh. The Vikings have too much discipline and speed in containment to get beat the same way the last 3 teams did. I'm not saying Wentz will have a bad game, his ability to take care of the football is commendable, but I am saying he will have to throw downfield to score which he hasn't been tested with, really

Also don't trust the Eagles WRs. They're young, yeah but while its understandable theyre not great route runners yet, that's not an excuse for all the key passes they drop when they do have separation. They've been winning because they have good RBs and a solid line, two things the Vikings excel at attacking

Note that I am paying attention to the whole team's matchups and I don't think they'll lose because of Wentz, I just don't think he'll be able to do enough to fully challenge an elite defense.

I do find it funny when people judge teams based on who they play against though

Like "Bah golly the only played the teams on their SCHEDULE! How dare they!"

  7. I agree, I was just saying that because the Eagles got shit on for it when other teams haven't aha.

Talking about strength of schedule in the NFL is a silly ass thing outside of the 3 or 4 bottom feeder/tanking teams, the idiom any given sunday is a thing for a reason.

Fletcher Cox is better than any Viking but they have at least as good of a DL overall (Linval Joseph isn't that far off from Cox as far as DTs go and Everson Griffin is a rock solid pass rusher) and better LBs, I'm sorry, you guys don't have a combimation quite like E. Kendricks/Barr/Greenway. All 3 of those guys are great.

Rams beat Seahawks and Cards, but lose to the 9ers.

    Matchups!

  12. Exactly. I keep trying to explain this to someone I work with. He seems to forget anybody is capable of winning any game.

Well playing your division is different, you can have a worse team but still totally thwart the other team's strategy if you know their game plan and philosophy inside and out. The Patriots (with healthy Brady), and until now the Colts, are the only teams who seem somewhat immune to losing to their little brothers.

Are the Patriots really immune to it? They've split with the Dolphins a lot lately and with the Jets last season, Bills (at least a split) this season, etc.

I feel like they rarely actually lose those games. Bills and Jets play the Pats tough but trust me I ALWAYS root for them to beat Brady and im disappointed by Brady getting hot in the 4th quarter so often it seems.

  17. Not to mention the Bills always give the Pats a tough game. They just happen to blow leads against them.

  18. OBJ claims he is a targeted player and gets fined too much.

He's the biggest baby in the league.

It's funny because outside of that bit, he was extremely grounded in the rest of that interview.

Actually turned my opinion around on him quite a bit.

    2015: 4-2 in division
    2014: 4-2 in division
    2013: 4-2 in division

Not saying that's bad of course but it pretty much matches what the Colts did in 2015 so I'd say they're about the same

I think one of those division losses is typically a meaningless game in week 16 or 17, not to diminish it but it also seems to me that the Patriots rarely lose divisional games that have any significance

You know as ugly as that Jags Colts game looked... Bortles had 3 TDS and no turnovers, we rushed for 136 yards, and the D Line had 6 sacks and held Andrew Luck to 230 yards even though he was in his signature comebacks-mode the whole game.

The Colts are bad at defense and bad at OL which explains all of that, but still, I deserve to be happy about that win. We certainly earned it and all things considered that was the most important game of these first four to win. 1-0 in the division and now we have at least a sliver of momentum and good tape to fall back on, now that we head into the bye and the easiest stretch of our schedule.

I just think it's unfair to dismiss the Colts division win dominance as "until recently" as if it hasn't been the same or better than the Patriots (sans 2011)

    For example:
    2015: 4-2 in division
    2014: 6-0 in division
    2013: 6-0 in division

    The rivalry is back on

Yeah, Jags didn't play a bad game. For the most part, their game plan of exploiting Cromartie and short passes in the flat that the Colts never adjusted to worked really well. Blythe looked awful on the o-line and Castonzo continues to look lost half the time, but even still, the D line did a better job than anyone the Colts have played besides Denver of taking advantage of it. Kudos!
