  1. I don't listen to this band too much anymore, but I just wanted to pop in and say this and Lift A Sail are pretty easily the two best albums they've ever recorded  happy to see them going out on a high note.

Putting Emptt Street on here was smart. There is now closure for that wonderful song and this band.

I'd also like to echo the hopes of the original version of Here I Am Alive with Patrick leaking someday soon

    What has love become?

For all who do not like the standard version of What Appears, I'm pretty sure you'll dig the acoustic version. It's great.

Wish I got into the last two. Southern air remains my favourite by far.

I have more thoughts I'm hoping to share later on a more in depth level, but just wanted to say initially that this album has just hit me really hard, in the best way. I have hardly listened to any other new releases because I keep wanting to come back to this.

At work today, I was probably on my 7th or 8th listen and for whatever reason Fields & Fences hit me super hard. Might've started to tear up, but, like, it's whatever.

There is something special about the way that Ryan sings that second verse man.

You should Point Me in the direction of those acoustic tracks. I don't have an FYE near me. :(

I think people are taking the lyrics to Savior's Robes a little too harshly. The song is actually more generally about the music industry and actually major record labels specifically. Part of what's encompassed in the scope of the topic is the entitled fans who only want to hear old songs, and that's what that part of the chorus is about but the entire song isn't necessarily only about that. Yes, we absolutely love LAS, we feel we did something special and it didn't resonate with a lot of fans for whatever reason and it just is what it is. What makes my eyes roll out of my head is when I see people saying stuff like "they're using electronic drums because LP left" or "Nate's drumming is boring" or "the bridges suck" etc. Does anyone really think that every single note of music from every instrument on every record isn't completely thought out and intentional? Does anyone really think Nate wasn't playing exactly what we wanted him to? Do people realize there are literally two songs on the record that have the "short bridge", and I only actually consider Crash The Gates as that because Transmission has an entire piano piece and string section, and a vocal section where we always get the crowd involved. I totally understand if someone doesn't like something and I never expect anyone to have any particular response and everyone is entitled to their opinions, but people judge way too quickly without really listening and say some pretty laughable stuff. Rant over. The backlash from LAS really didn't specifically contribute to it, it's more of just where we feel the state of the music industry is right now combined with personal/family reasons. Obviously if LAS had been universally loved amongst fans that would have been awesome, but would it have changed our decision? Unlikely.

No problem, I enjoy it. I also agree about the ending of that song, and you'd be surprised how many songs/sections of songs that are universally loved by fans actually end up at the last second changing and becoming what they are. A significant amount.

The new record is great man!

Are you all gonna have multiple setlists for the final tour or just kind of stick to one you already made up?

Hope you all will consider playing Gifts and Curses on this tour. It's my favorite song.

This is a great, great post Ryan and thank you very much for hanging out in here and telling us what's up. I think your band has one of the best catalogs in our scene and could go toe to toe with some of the best alt-rock and pop punk bands around. Of course, I also adore the new album and I'm going to miss y'all making music.

By the way, what kind of guitar setup are you running these days?

I like every song on this album but I don't think any song is spectacular. I love Rest In Peace but that's about it. I really like Empty Street, Leave A Light On, Got Yours and Saviour's Robes too but I don't think this will be a top 5 Yellowcard album. I still do enjoy it though.

I've let a handful of people hear "Leave a Light On" and "I'm a Wrecking Ball" and their reactions were always "This doesn't sound like Yellowcard at all!" All I can do is laugh. Those songs might be them branching out, but shouldn't surprise you by any means that they are capable of writing things like that if you are aware of anything other than "Ocean Avenue". Just shows how criminally underrated the band's catalog is that tooons of people don't even associate them with anything other than pop punk.

I enjoyed lift a sail. I thought the incorporation of electronic stuff was pretty rad given the time it was released. Honestly if the drums were super busy on that record it would of made the songs sound funny.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

Yo if MSK had some sick fills it would easily have been a 10, 2/11 as it exists

LP would have brought fills and beach references to MSK. What a shame Nate (subpar drummer) made the song suck

Looking through their Wiki pages, I noticed that "Here I Am Alive" featured Taylor Jardine. For some reason I always thought it was Carly Rae Jepsen even though it doesn't sound like her. Also that song should have been huge summer of 2012 if people knew what was good for them at the time.
