Album is good. Need to give it more than two listens, but it's definitely the follow-up I expected from them 17(?) years after they released their debut. Now I just wish I could find a way to make their Chicago date on the 29th not conflict with Bear vs. Shark.

I was never a die hard fan of the first album though I did like it. My issue with it (which I'm sure plenty here will disagree with) is that it has two such substantial songs at the beginning in Never Meant and Honestly and then the rest kind of just exists pleasantly. It's a nice record but not much on it registered strongly with me beyond the couple standouts.

My feelings on this one are similar so far. It feels a little too much like Owen in some places. Really really really dig the last two tracks but even those slip into Owen mode halfway through and I'm like eh. Overall I think it's really good but I wonder if some will be disappointed that some nice drumming aside its pretty in line with the last 15 years of Kinsella's output.

Enjoyed the album on first listen. Maybe I'll enjoy it more when it's not 90 degrees here in Texas.

I love the vocals on this song. You don't hear Mike sing like that very often. It's cool, and eerily remiscent to his boi, Evan Weiss.

 

There should have been less vocals on the album. It would have sounded more like the first album, but I love that shit. They should have at least thrown on a "The One With The..." instrumental track on it.

But yeah, I think the lack of long weird timing instrumental parts in a few songs would have been awesome.

Agreed with there being an instrumental song. Would have fit in so perfectly near the middle for me.

Anyway, this album is still so fucking good. A shame it leaked this early but already have had this ordered forever (Also makes listening to the new Jimmy Eat World easier). It's so hard to not listen to all day though. Especially in the car.

 

Yea, that's probably the only thing I would have added to it. An instrumental.
