Lol I never even thought about it until it happened! I couldn't believe they ended up charging me. It was so unexpected because StubHub were the ones who cancelled the order and then a month later I got charged. I'm glad it was just a single ticket!

    Either way, fuck StubHub :crylaugh:

    Sounds like a nightmare indeed.

Me and a friend of mine had 2 more sucky experiences with them lately:

    1. I sold a ticket for a show and immediately did the transfer and after a few minutes got a confirmation. That was about a week before the event. A day before the show I got an email saying that I still need to transfer the ticket. I disregarded that and after the event I got an email saying that the sale was cancelled because I didn't transfer it. I spoke to some people over the phone who clearly had no idea what to do and after a few times I finally got someone who fixed it on their end.

    2. My friend bought a ticket to a sporting event. The seller did the transfer but he transferred 2 tickets by mistake, the seat my friend wanted and the one next to him. That was like 2 months before the event. He told me about it and wasn't sure what to do (he actually panicked because he thought they will void it or something) and I told him that this on the seller, don't sell the ticket or give it to anyone. A week before the event he got an email from StubHub asking him to transfer back on of the tickets. It made me think, what would have happened if he sold the ticket or just didn't transfer it back to them?

Having had quite a bit of experience on the wholesale/venue side of the relationship with third party resale sites, I can say that while StubHub used to be the "go-to" and most consistently reliable in terms of speedy resolution of issues, ease of getting in touch with a real person, etc., that pretty drastically changed after COVID and their recent buyout. They were puchased by Viagogo last year, and they gutted a ton of their support staff, especially on the venue/large seller side. Hearing about major issues with SH doesn't surprise me at all. They've changed drastically.

These days, I find that that Seatgeek and TickPick are the most user-friendly in terms of consumer experience. VividSeats is great to communicate with, but their fees are so exorbitant that they're hard to recommend.

I used Stubhub to buy a ticket for Motion City Soundtrack last year, I acepted the ticket, but when I aerived to the venue the tickets was voided. There were at least 5 people in the same situation that night. We all were on the phone with stubhub but no one was able to make it in. At leasr they were fast giving a refund

More odd Ticketmaster confusion. The standard ticket I purchased for Noel Gallahagher/Garbage now seems to have DECREASED in price from the pre-sale which odd. Also, Yellowcard at Pier 17 in NYC has no standard tickets but DOES have premium which....is also odd considering it's general admission. That must mean that even general admission events can have a price increase if it's a hot seller.

You know what’s worse than scalping? Not even being able to tell the true face value of a ticket and TM scalping their own tickets. Incredibly messed up.

So after you said that I went back to look At Yellowcard. I paid $49 plus fees, now same exact ticket is $59.50 plus fees.

I feel like we would all be good defendants in a case against live nation. Our detective work we can now claim that live nation does “this show is selling better than we thought…let’s raise the prices” to the slimy things they do.

I suppose I can understand (albeit begrudgingly) premium/dynamic pricing when there are different sections but I am not sure what a “platinum” ticket in a general admission means.

The last tour did well because of nostalgia and doing arenas this time around, not a good idea. The nostalgia wore off quick.

I had a similar run in with Rob Flynn, years ago me and two friends were sitting at these small round bar tables that were set up in a middle section at the venue. MH had just went on, and half way through opening song stopped and called us out for sitting. Said something to the effect are you guys at a cafe waiting for your lattes and scones, get the fuck up. Everyone laughing at us, I think we all turned beet red…of course my anti authoritarian know it all attitude at the time now meant I was parking my ass there out of spite. Still makes for a fun story we all still make call backs too.

This is great. So my first time ever hearing Machine Head was at Mayhem Fest in ‘08 and they were doing a meet & greet before and I asked them if they knew if Slipknot was doin a meet & greet. Looking back he was so confused and rightfully so but he took me back stage to ask a few people and even introduced me to Sid and Clown to ask them if they were haha. They were easily top three bands that played that day for me. I told him I’ve never even heard of Machine Head and when he got On tage he looked for me and asked what I thought. Haha he likes calling people out on stage apparently.

Hopefully it doesn't get to that. Doing that might hurt the venues a bit but it will hurt the fans the most.

Not sure who Jelly Roll is, but looks like a big amphitheater tour being announced today. Legit don't recognize him or a single support act on the tour.
