Happy that Jack got a crucial goal in a game like this. I know he has got so much shit and yeah we probably over paid for him but the dude does exactly what Pep wants out of him and he is so good in those small spaces which helps unlock the final third for us.

Scott Parker's Champions League adventure is going about as good as you would of expected; 2-0 down at home to Benfica.

    hmmm

This is the first I've been aware that Scott Parker is Club Brugge manager.

Big story tonight is that Dortmund didn’t concede a goal.

Only half agree with this. We were the better team in the first half, but I thought we were largely dreadful in the second and City ended up as deserved winners. The difference was that they had Haaland up top, and could bring on players like Foden & Dias.

    It's all hell.

Was at CRJ tonight and just saw the result.

    Bleh.

Was debating going again tonight, but decided to watch the football. At full time my girlfriend sent me a text saying “Probably should have seen Carly instead…”

  11. New Charlotte kit released tonight. Very different from the black and mint last year lol

    It's all hell.

This is now a Carly appreciation thread. She's phenomenal, 20-odd bangers with zero dips.

Ally Pally still sucks though - annoying to get to from any direction, and £8.50 pints which is insane.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Saw Chvrches there years ago and it's a good job that it's such a dramatic looking venue, because it's absolutely shit to get to from just about anywhere.

    See also: The Troxy.

    hmmm

I haven't been to Ally Pally in a few years but I'm seeing Gojira there next week. Its aesthetic really is the only thing in its favour. Annoying to get to and the sound is notoriously muddy.

  15. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the end for his time as Spurs manager. He’s been through a lot this past year and keeps talking about missing Italy. Now he’s going through this.

Troxy is okay. The setup there is pretty weird, and it being so far out east on the DLR is a pain, but I’d choose it over Ally Pally every time.

Is there some connection between DNA / Royal / Charlotte that I’m missing?

  20. Charlotte is nicknamed “the Queen City” so that’s where all the “crown” and “Royal” stuff comes from.

Forest want to emergency register Steve Cook to their squad due to an injury crisis. It would be a pisstake if the Premier League allow it to happen but I wouldn't put it past them. Forest should of thought things through properly when signing an entire squad.

  22. The kit drop last night proving that American sports fans/new soccer fans are not used to teams having new jerseys every season. Seeing a good amount of people upset that their jersey from last season is now “out dated”.

  23. KyleK

Let's get these people moving faster!

I mean, I see long-time English football fans complain every off-season about new kits being introduced every season - and not like back in the day when they'd be used for multiple years. So although those folks know it's just standard nowadays and wouldn't be surprised by a kit launch, they're still jaded by the whole process. The bigger distinction is in Europe I think they still perceive more pressure or expectation to buy every new (especially home) kit, which seemed to the tradition for kids. Wherein I just see them as more opportunities to eventually like one enough to buy.

Neymar to Chelsea in the summer seems to be picking up steam. The Chelsea fire sale this summer will be insane.

Southampton had been tracking Jesse Marsch for seven years only to piss him off by offering him a six month contract.

Not sure what is more delusional, losing someone you've tracked for so long because of a lowball contract length or somehow thinking that after being fired from one Prem team means you deserve a long term contract to another.
