Isn’t it also established that they aren’t allowed to in some states?

Anyone trying to go to ATL that can help decipher this venue? I’ve never been before. Is there truly no “pit”/GA area? In the section up front I see some tickets available but they look like seats/they are 200+ a pop, wtf lol

  4. damn, I just don't think I can justify $125 for a single ticket. looked up my farewell tour receipt to compare and it was $38. I know everything is more expensive these days, but that seems like a big swing

Dang, how incredibly unfortunate!! Just doesn’t seem right to see a YC show standing/sitting in one spot… well, I’ll still make it out for sure and going to see them on the floor in SLC too. Thanks for clarifying!

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Yeah, prices of a lot of shows lately are insane and making me not go nearly as much. It’s sucks to be priced out of shows and music that you love

It feels like every mid level show in like 500-1k venues is $30 or close to it and then it just goes up and up from there, which is fine if you go to one show every so often, but if you go to numerous shows on a more regular basis it gets unaffordable quick.

I’m happy for bands like YC to be able to have this success (this kind of tour that sells this well is probably a one time thing), but the power LN has really sucks. It’s crazy that some markets it’s $50 and other’s it’s $100-$125 just to get a decent ticket. Also this dynamic pricing shit is so wrong. It’s the worst form of capitalism and exploits fans. For what it’s worth I’d always rather see 3-4 club headliners over spending this much to see one band. It’s so hard to justify spending that much on one show while also knowing I’m getting fucked by LN.

Pit tickets for the Chicago show are $149 with fees. I paid $89 with fees for pit for Phoebe Bridgers at the same venue last summer. That definitely seems a bit steep.

  11. It’s over 3000 sold now. Our minds are absolutely blown. The pre sale in general is completely insane.

    See you there!

  14. Sorry we will miss you. We truly never thought we would get to do this again which is why 2016 felt so final for us. We feel so grateful that people still care so much about the band and we have this chance to do it again. As far as dynamic ticketing, livenation is promoting the tour. We have no control over things like that. I understand it is frustrating for some fans, but the other option for us would be to just stay home. We have families and futures that this tour will provide so much for and we are just thankful for the opportunity.

Make as much money as humanly possible @williamryankey so that we can get another album. I beg. I plead. Lol

The one thing I will say in all of this, is ultimately I can't justify it personally and this is obviously a bummer...I never imagined, frankly, a day when a pop-punk show was unaffordable--I'm stoked the band are getting theirs in the end. I know so many of the bands we grew up with cut their teeth playing for nobody and grinding it out and to see bands like YC, Mayday, and SOTY go out and pack these amphitheaters is awesome and a testament to the music we love. I just wish I could be there and I wish LiveNation didn't have to be involved haha

So happy for you guys dude. It was an easy decision to go full throttle for this one and I feel fortunate enough to be able to do so. We've been to so many YC shows over the years that have cost us very little, you guys were pumping out records and tours year after year for more than a decade and tickets were always extremely reasonable. Happy to help support the return of the band even if the modern day setup and larger venues means we'll be paying a little bit more. Will be in NYC, NJ, Jax and Minneapolis.

    See you soon!!

Ultimately this is all that matters and I'm stoked for you and the band, my friend. As sad as I am that my wife & I can't swing it, it means a lot to me as a fan to see a band I've loved for so long have this kind of success and long may it continue. So many bands in our scene came and went and could never do this type of thing and I truly hope it is successful beyond any of these band's wildest dreams.

In a perfect world this all leads to a new album with a full tour at smaller, more affordable venues, but I won't get too greedy:-) As others have said, it's awesome to see YC alive and well in 2023. Good luck this summer, I hope every show completely shreds, and I hope the gal/guy who could afford the pit seat goes as hard as I would've!

GENUINE question, does Live Nation dictate if dynamic pricing is used in the tour or do you/your management have a say? If they DO dictate, does the band get a piece of the premium? I'm hoping the band DOES get a say in it and if so, also gets a portion of the premium but have not been able to fully uncover what the deal is.

Really cool how interactive and transparent WRK is being in this thread.

@williamryankey any plans on adding 2nd nights in select markets?

  22. I am sure it factors into the guarantee we get but I don’t recall being in on a conversation about having it or not. It was my understanding that it’s just the norm now.

  23. I think we would play a bigger room before adding another show but let’s see if we make it that far haha

  24. LA half sold out in one hour. What is life?!

Makes sense and I understand that bands can't personally review all contracts, thus why you hire lawyers, business managers, etc. I imagine that you get guarantee (X) and in order to pay that, it may include dynamic pricing. Nonetheless, congrats to you and your band on the great response to this tour and while I am not sure of plans yet in July, I hope to see you at Pier 17 in NYC (not that you'll have any trouble selling that out).
