Just caught up on the first two episodes. Good stuff so far.

 

Can it be Sunday tomorrow? I can’t wait for this next episode.

 

Debatable.

 

They will most likely jump straight to the events of TLOU2 game for season two, but it would be neat if season two of the show covered the time between TLOU and TLOU2. Then have the second game be season 3.

 

I could see them using some of the flashback material as cold opens like they’re doing this season since each chapter had a flashback associated with them for the most post. Unless of course they come up with more new material to use instead.

 

Finally got my new GPU to work, so I’m ready to play the PC version in March babayyyyy

 

Redownloading part 1 so I can finally play the left behind DLC. Kept going back and forth if I wanted to play first or wait until after the events appeared on the show

 

I don’t see that being a good idea. I’m sure they’ll expand on some of it though.

 

I think it’s great. There are years of events they could cover. Plus the show can last more than just a couple years. Also you can have Pedro be in the show longer. It’s a win/win.

Being a 1:1 footprint of the game works for now, but it’s not like it’s a book brought to life and you see everything visually for the first time. The games were already cinematic as is so I would like them to bring something new to the table and venture out so it’s not just a retelling of events.

 

They've already said they have zero interest in doing filler or extra original stuff and that the next step would be jumping straight to the second game.

Will they expand on things as we've seen already? Yes. But we're not getting the "in-between" years or entirely new character arcs.

 

Don’t worry, they’ll tell the story of 1 and 2 and then launch some extended universe bullshit

 

But we won’t get more Pedro as Joel that way. Guess I’ll have to riot

 

Yea, that’s a spoiler even if it does not say when thing happens. Luckily for you, I guess, someone else already spoiled that for me.

What's more likely is the time it takes to film the next 2 seasons and then show them is the same amount of time it'll take to get the 3rd game. I could see the game coming out and then a few months later season 4. Expected date? 2028.

He's just part of a larger story. People come and go though Ellie is forever.

 

It's Game Of Thrones all over again.

 

No way it takes that long for the seasons to release. They already greenlit season 2. They’ll mostly likely begin filming that this summer or fall for a release next year. At most season 2 and I guess 3 will be out by 2025. They also may not even make a LOU3 game if they can’t come up with a good enough story according to the game writer and director. So this could end up just being a mini series with 3 seasons and that will be a wrap.

 

LOL nah, they've already said they're not gonna surpass any source material so if we gotta wait for the game, show will eventually follow.

And if it takes a year to film and a little more for post, maybe late 2027 at the latest. But as I said above they're not gonna do an adaptation of tlou3 if it's not our yet. I know what Neil said but there's also been talk (nothing official) that pre development work had started around November/December. Im positive Neil and Halley are already brainstorming and he already said he wants to bring onboard more writers for this next project (which is 99.9% gonna be tlou3). Considering there was 7 years of dev work I'd assume it's gonna be a little shorter considering they already have prior experience with the PS5 now so hopefully the game will be out in around 5 years. And the show isn't coming out until after the game. They aren't gonna pull a game of thrones situation.

 

I feel like TLOU2 adapted will be a lot rougher if Bella hasn't aged into the older Ellie role yet. Remember she's an adult in the second game, if they jump right into filming season 2 it's going to have an entirely different and even bleaker feel

 

That shouldn’t be a big issue. Ramsey is 19 now, which I believe is Ellie’s age in part 2. She’s definitely playing younger than she is, so it shouldn’t be that hard to age her back up.

 

I don’t think it will be a game of thrones situation either, because unlike GoT it seems like this show will only be a 1:1 copycat of the game meaning we may only get 3 seasons in total and that’s it. Even if we get a LOU3 game, the season adapting that will be years after they finished shooting the seasons covering LOU2.

I’m saying the timeline seems like this:
LOU S1: 2023
LOU S2: Summer/Fall 2024
LOU S3: 2025
nothing
LOU3 game (maybe): 2027+
Season adapting LOU3 game: 2029 at earliest

so the show will either have a hiatus or just outright end since they refuse to do anything other than just copy the games.
