My only complaint about sex scenes is when the man clearly finishes in or on their partner and they just lay down with no clean up.

Sex scenes in movies seem pointless way more often than not and I’d rather not watch them, but unless I’m watching something rated G or PG, I’ve accepted there’s a chance for there to be at least one.

 

I keep seeing memes about how expensive eggs are now and I bought some yesterday and it was like $5 for a dozen of cage free eggs? I feel like it used to be like 3.75-4? That’s not that crazy of a difference. I was expecting $10 or more a dozen.

 

Yea, yesterday felt like sticker shock and I buy a dozen eggs 3-4 times a month. Last time I bought farm fresh eggs from a farmers market it was less than $5

 

A dozen large eggs at even Walmart is like $6, feel like it used to be 1/2 that but could be wrong

 

I mean, most sex scenes used to be an excuse to see boobs. Which is not pointless. To the plot? Sure. To the audience? Very relevant haha so sex scenes with no actual nudity? Those seem kind of silly.

 

The jump from $4 to $5 is still a 25% increase though. Especially for people who already live on tight budgets, I can see that having a sizeable impact.

 

yeah that’s true, I guess I don’t buy them enough to feel that impact.

 

Egg prices have gone up much more than 25% in most places though. Around here you used to be able to get a dozen regular eggs for well bellow $2, now all of the eggs at stores are $5.99 or more.

I didn't see this until after I typed it out, but it used to be well below half that.

We've mostly stopped buying eggs at all just due to the price being so high.

 

I think they meant pointless to the plot not pointless to people who want to be horny but can’t access porn for whatever reason

 

I’m not talking about just sex scenes with nudity, though. There are plenty without it, especially PG-13 films.

One perspective that I’ve found interesting is that sex scenes offer the audience a chance to examine power dynamics between the couple at their most vulnerable, but a lot of the time, it’s not that deep; so many sex scenes are simply there to arouse, which I do find pointless.

 

I think the human body can be enjoyed for more than just horny reasons.

like I said, sec scenes without nudity are kind of silly.
