There are still a ton of people on there that are still holding out hope for MCR and FOB. But like even with the blurred out lines, and strength of the rest of the lineup that makes no sense.

I’ve even see people think them or Avril could show up as a surprise. I’m like you don’t hold your biggest artist out as a surprise, when you need to sell thousands of tickets.

Well, he’s right they are cheaper than Adjacent Fest (not by much though). But does he really believe that BBoy competitions, wresting, and amusement rides make up for the lack of any big headliners? I mean I wouldn’t disagree that Bamboozle lineups have not always been driven by the headliners, but the way he marketed this and hyped it up really did just make this so much worse.

Also lol at the six flags comment. A season pass for six flags great adventure in NJ is about $100. So, for the price of one bamboozle ticket, you and two of your friend can go to six flags as many times as you want all year and still pay less

 

he just doesn’t get what people in 2023 go to a music fest for. He just sadly out of touch.

This guy is pathological. Two more announcements? He spent the last month telling us that today will be the final announcement. An announcement that would “shut the haters up.”

He’s starting to sound like Billy McFarlane. Every criticism he receives he just responds with “just wait we got a big announcement around the corner!”

 

Amusement rides. You mean the kind of rides at everyone's local carnival for like $5? Or like is he flying in kingda ka from six flags

there are literally maybe five people across all platforms who are stoked about the current lineup. Everyone else is so upset, even the ones who like the artists they are like questioning $400 when the lineup isn’t anywhere close to other fests charging similar or much less.

 

i went to this fest and they had tons of free theme park rides, actually stacked names and it was $150 less than this shit lol

 

Pitchfork is also less than this festival, same with Riot Fsst if you book early bird.

 

Warped Tour in Atlantic City 2019 had a lineup that I’d argue was much better than both adjacent fest and bamboozle and was significantly cheaper than both. And they even had wrestling iirc

Maybe not a fair comparison since that was warped tour’s final year but still. I just don’t get how you put out a lineup like that with those prices. And if it’s truly because you spent so much money on wrestling and tiktok stars, then there’s your problem. How can John D not see that using that money on getting big headliners would sell more tickets?

 

Riot Fest also has rides, dunk tanks, a wedding chapel, a skate ramp and a lot more lol

 

I’ve always wanted to go to one of these. I hope he does another one this year

 

He keeps saying "we're building a scene from within" but a majority of this lineup is artists way past their prime. And I'm not just talking about the nu metal, all those hip hop "headliners" hit their peak 5 years ago. The only artists on there that I'd expect to get bigger in the future are Ice Spice, Killboy, Jax and Poorstacy. But not like "headliner status" bigger.

‘building a new scene’= one of their biggest draws being a homophobic metalcore band with SA allegations that was an unliked gimmick a decade ago when they were ‘popular’

That is insane. Firefly 2022, with MCR, Green Day, Halsey, Dua on their top line, for less than this festival, like a 2 hour drive away couldn’t pull those numbers.

 

I wonder if he means 16.6k attendees per day across 3 days. That’d obviously be misleading bc most attendees will have a ticket for all 3 days. But that’s the only way I can see this claim being even slightly justifiable

 

That's exactly what he's doing. Still, I don't see this pulling 16k a day.
