Brendon Urie has announced the end of Panic! at the Disco.

Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way.

But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. We’ve been trying to keep it to ourselves, though some of you may have heard.. Sarah and I are expecting a baby very soon! The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure.

That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more.

Thank you all for your immense support over the years. I’ve sat here trying to come up with the perfect way to say this and I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Europe and the UK for one last run together.

I love you. I appreciate you. Thank you for existing.

A shame he ended things with his absolute worst release. But i'll always remember being dumbfounded by "a fever..." close to 20 years ago. Just floored me at the time.

I can't believe Brendon Urie walked out on Brendon Urie.

I don't care if it's the only gap I have in Panic's vinyl discography, I'm not buying that last album.

And I say that as someone who eventually did pick up Oliver Appropriate to scratch that same OCD itch.

I wonder if this was always kind of his plan or was more of a result from how much criticism the last album received

I guess I'm the only asshole who thought the last album was his best in years? Cool.

Ok, let me try: I wonder if he will reunite (with himself) for a reunion tour in a few years?

this band died to me after their dark horse, pretty odd record. i wish they really leaned more into creating something unique instead of mainstream. i’m glad they’re done tbh.

Panic albums released in the last 10 years: 4
AAR albums released in the last 10 years: 0

I like both bands so just sayin

Agreed. I don't know what happened, but that album was absolute trash. I couldn't even listen through it all the way. And I liked the two albums leading into it.

Yeah I'm almost convinced that nobody who actually listened to the album can possibly think it's worse than Pray for the Wicked

I think a lot of people had already made up their mind about Brendon and Panic before listening to VLV and that is the reason they hate it so much. Pray for the Wicked has its highlights, but to me it’s easily the worst album in the discography.

There's a really good guitar hook in "Send You Off" on OA, but that's about it. I'll never forget how Maxis started snorting drugs again to get "back into character" for that album.

    D'oh! Prestigious

All the jokes about how he's breaking up a one man operation are pretty reduntant, he's putting the moniker aside, and we all know he does have a live band for it.

I also don't think the last album was an abomination or anything, though to me it is quite exhausting if you listen from start to finish. That's still a cool and steady career in the end. If they all quit after Pretty. Odd. he would be far far from the position he's in now, couldn't possibly believe he regrets that.
