Got invited to a “surprise birthday party” for a 29 year old. On Saturday. During my Jag of time. The fuck we doing

 

Yeah that would be a no for me.

 

I just turned 29 and I did absolutely nothing for it. Getting to go to the wildcard game was my party lol.

 

I would ghost my own birthday party if it would stop me from seeing the Jaguars in the playoffs

 

I turned 29 in November and spent it on a work trip in Utah working 12 hours days lol - and I forgot it was even my birthday until I got some birthday texts haha

I feel like after 21, who cares?

 

I mean birthdays are a nice excuse to see someone or some people you really care about and do something fun that you don’t usually do, imo. But the idea of a birthday PARTY with all these people who are casual friends to barely acquaintances… involving family you don’t talk to much and like, coworkers and neighbors… that is so weird to me if you’re not a child lol

 

Birthday to me is, yay, time to celebrate that I’m alive, the way that I want to. Not, HEY EVERYBODY IM IN CONTACT WITH, CELEBRATE MY LIFE

Yeah, every birthday after 21 is bunk. If you're still in college or shortly after you get out you want to use it as an excuse to be reckless, cool, but by like 25 the "party" just needs to go away.

My wife loves celebrating holidays/occasions, and I would love nothing more than for my birthday to pass unacknowledged.

guys I have been down and out with a stomach flu since yesterday evening and this sucks lol thought you'd want to know that!

 

that sucks I hope you feel better, I’ve been battling a cough that won’t go away. I keep hacking up my lungs every 10 minutes.

 

There's a stomach bug going around my work. Everyone is shittin and puking. Hope I dont get it.
