FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I would love to hear some of these songs in a proper late show full band appearance. So weird how the only promotion they've done for the last three albums is acoustically with John and Adam (and especially for Faith, Adam was baaaad on all those acoustic performances) these sound good but still, is everyone else busy? Lol.

They always used to do Kimmel for album releases. I wonder what happened there.

Damn, I forgot to turn it on at the beginning. I wanted to see them play "Death Wolf" live.

Based on this stream they definitely seem more at home in these songs than they did in Chicago for the record release. Cant wait to see this tour at home with all my friends.

Yea, they definitely sound pretty good (even Adam!). I would love to see them play this whole album full in person.

They brought down Holy Water a half step and Adam is still having trouble with those notes, heh

"Holy Water" vaguely reminds me of a a War On Drugs Song. Some of John's guitar parts are very reminiscent of Lost In The Dream.

What the hell is going on with John's vocals on Liar? Sounded like death metal.

It's interesting going back and watching live videos of "Liar". The guitar solo in particular. Fred, Matt, and John have all had very different ways of playing it. Just very cool to see of the styles of the three guys differ.

Hope there's a way to watch it this later. I can't watch it right now.

I get that "MakeDamnSure" is their most commercially successful song, but I still think it's a poor choice for a closer.

That stream was a fun watch. Bummed I won't be able to see tidal wave in full but this'll do. Ive never understood the massive love for cute without the e, one of my least favorite TBS songs.

I think for the casual fan it's the perfect choice but I'd rather see them go home with slowdance or everything must go.

a few years back they tried to do it earlier on the set and I think the encore was just cute and a crowd request. not sure which tour that was on but it didn't stick and MDS got put back into the closing slot pretty quickly

  18. Damn I missed the streams, are the shows still watchable somewhere ?

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

I posted this on the blink thread, but I'm reposting here to see your guys thoughts too.

Something to ponder: What about the human taste in music makes some songs/bands/albums instantly click with us, while some are what you consider a grower? Like you may love a certain band, they release a new album. Counting out people who genuinely dislike it, Sometimes some people love it off the bat and others are not feeling it at first but come back after a week or two and love it. What drives this?? For example, I loved blink's California off the bat, but taking back sundays new album 'Tidal Wave' I initially didn't like very many songs off of it. Two weeks later I love basically every song and consider it one of their stronger efforts in recent years

Being a musician I've thought a lot about this and even read about it.

Usually music that clicks with you instantly contains some sort of familiarity in chords or melody that you've heard before. When you listen to music your brain is searching for familiar melodies and sound. That's why you shouldn't judge any new music until you have heard it 3 times and it has become familiar to your brain.

Well, that does make a lot of sense actually

Sort of related to that, I think for growers you often have to consciously put aside what you were expecting from an album. In those listens while it's growing on you, you might search for either something new you like, or you find more subtle examples of what you were originally looking for.

Yes when it's a bands second or third album you already have in your head the idea of what you want the follow up to sound like.

Hoteliers goodness is a great example people had a lot different idea of what a follow up to home would sound like but once those expectations were gone they were able to accept it for the great work that it is

Alright I've definitely got a lot more into this album, definitely enjoying it. Surprised to find a couple songs that sound like they could have come straight from New Again, after all the shit the band has talked about that album lol.

MakeDamnSure is not a closer :( I'd love to end a show with EMG or slowdance.

I see them on the 11th, and after seeing them in 11, 12 and 13 (or was it 11 13 and 14), I'm stoked to see these new songs live. Has the afterset been the same each show/hopefully we get an encore.
