    and a little jingle...

0_o He hasnt been at that level for awhile lol. Go check out like...his last 3 solo albums...his last 3 bright eyes albums....and Desa. He hasnt been like that for ages. He still does it, just like on this album, but not as much.

Does anyone know what books/authors he's talking about in "A little uncanny" in the ronald regan verse?

Not positive but considering he's talking about Reagan and "making a joke of poor people" i.e. capitalism, I'd guess that he means communist writers like Vladimir Lenin.

That's the way I was taking that too, wanted to make sure I wasnt missing something more specific. Cool!

Anyone who likes this should definitely check out Keaton Henson, he just released a new album last month. Thread is here.

oh yeah, my initial comment was talking in general how far he's come in terms of vocals since the beginning, or that's what I meant. It was spurred because I'd been listening to a lot of the early stuff recently, and so the contrast was more stark as a result.

This album is, unsurprisingly, perfect at 11:30 at night when you have trouble sleeping.

This album is exactly what I was hoping for from Conor.

Could definitely see this finding a place on my EOTY list.

  24. I think this will end up in my top ten for the year too. Crazy how many albums that will make that list are out within a month of each other (this, John K Samson, JEW, Joyce Manor, maybe Balance).

The closer, "Till St. Dymphna Kicks Us Out", is such a perfect way to conclude this album. Might be my favorite track on here.
