It would be interesting, but I don’t see it happening. With the intensity that Taylor played at, I think it would be hard for Dave to pull that off while having to sing too. Has Dave done this before? Has he ever sang and played drums at the same time in any project he’s done?

I’m willing to bet they got Josh Freese

I could see Dave taking over for studio drumming and then having someone else play on tour

The Glasshouse in Pomona, CA just shared this meme. They usually don’t post stuff like this. The caption makes it seem like they’re hinting something…

Governors Ball has been oddly quiet on social media, wonder what's up with that fest.

Taking a year off. Founders has really struggled after Gov Ball made the pivot away from indie/alt. The teen crowd has really made it quite unenjoyable. The Founders team is moving a lot of their resources to Sound on Sound in CT this year.

Weezer at the Glass House would be amazing.

This would make me so happy.

I loved the early GovBalls and was so sad as it crumbled in quality of music and audience.....having an eclectic lineup of music within walking distance from my apartment was incredible

Can't see that happening. INdie/alt/rock audiences are spoiled in NYC by having every act come through here all the time so trying to get fans to go stand in the toxic sewer dump of Randalls Island or Citi Field Parking lot all day while drunk teens vomit on each other probably isn't going to be a winning formula. As people get older, the environment of the festival matters almost as much as the lineup itself and a lot of us who live in NYC (myself included) would probably prioritize a road trip festival in a nicer setting.

Haha sad yet true....maybe Steve Cohen's plan to revitalize the area around Citi Field will open up some new possibilities...but part of what made GovBall so special at the start was the NYC is always spoiled with acts that pass through and yet they were still able to curate fun and diverse lineups

Ugh that's such a bummer. I went last year and got to see Soccer Mommy, Coin, Japanese Breakfast, Kaytranada, and Carti all in one day. Easily one of the best days of 2022

Portugal The Man ever gonna release a new album or just going to do their jam band mixed with cover thing forever?

Those 8 names alone already beat out last years lineup.

I think PTM's label is putting wayyyyy too much pressure on them to match the success of Feel It Still. Which will never happen. They put out that single What Me Worry exactly a year ago, and I think the lack of traction it had made them go back to the drawing board.

It’s wild that it’s been six years since they released Woodstock. They have to drop something this year

Lol it’s wild, but you’re spot on. They started subbing out some of the same covers with new ones though. I don’t understand where the new record is? They dropped that single last summer then nothing.

I am always wondering the same thing. It's amazing how prolific they were for like a decade (an album a year) and how unprolific they are now. I think they are spending a lot of time in the activism world, which good for them and the causes they're championing, but I want new music too!

Not sure I believe the leaks about Korn, also forgot to put Paramore on the list too.

Surreal (but also makes sense) to see Post Malone and Lizzo billed above Smashing Pumpkins
